Hospital Radius Inexplicably Changes Itself!

Hello all...

I have a rather annoying problem that I think might be related to the Radius Doubler Modd (https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=13696), but I cannot be sure. I thought I'd post this to see if anyone else has seen this.

Basically, the hospitals in the game seem to have "fluctuating" effective radii. That is, I will set the radius of the hospital (by setting the Ambulance funding to, say $150). At the end of the in-game month, the ambulance funding, for no apparent reason, changes to some figure, such as $50. If I let the game continue to run, it will drop or grow with no apparent pattern. I have even watched the funding with the query window open, and it will change at the end of the month without any influence on my part.

I suspect it might have been the radius doubler modd, since I haven't had this problem before. But after uninstalling the modd and opening up one of the cities again, the same thing still happens with the hospitals. It doesn't seem to be happening with the schools or any other civic buildings.

I'd really like to keep using the civic radius doubler modd, so I'd like to know if there is anyone who has noticed this bizarre quirk and if they have been able to do anything about it. Thanks.

I don't know anything about the radius doubler, but if you change the radius, or funding of a civic facility already present in the city, that will cause the symptoms you describe. What happens is the lot has two different factors for the game to compile, it takes the difference and subtracts that from the setting. That is a very simplified explanation, and may not be technically correct, but it's the cause.

I was looking at the symptoms a little more in-depth, and I have noticed the straight-up funding also is erratic. What seems to be happening is that the regular funding seems to increase and the ambulance funding decreases to zero. I would like to retract that I think it is the radius doubler, because I have opened other cities without the radius doubler, and strange stuff still happens.

If anyone is even interested in this, read on!

After further investigation, I have found the cause of the problem. It is the Sarah H. Bingham Hospital file (https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=12262) that is causing the issues. There is even a disclaimer on the file download page where the creator has noticed the same problem I am having. I will play around with the files with ilive reader a little to see if I can't find what's causing this issue, but if anyone has any advice for me, I would greatly appreciate it.
