Night lights! Help Please!

Okay, I've tried to download SKU Patch and it says "SimCity 4: Deluxe Edition; it is not downloaded on my computer." I know it is clearly downloaded because I am looking at it right now. Then I tried to download the BAT so I can download the night light patch to get night lights on BATs in my city and it says it isn't there. Please help. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem...

Okay, slow down...

You've got the SKU update right? Good. So you're getting the error message when you try and install the BAT not because you don't have the SKU update, but because you don't have the gmax modeling program installed (which you don’t even need unless you want to make custom buildings!)

You do realize that you don't need the BAT or gmax at all to get the night lighting patch so you can see the night-lights on BAT’s made by other people.

Delete your BAT installer and install this.

SimCity 4 Update (14.4MB) <-- That's link right below where you downloaded the BAT, this is the thing that fixes the night lighting.

I don't have an account on Simcity 4. I tried to do it and it says I already made an account. I don't have the SKU update. Everytime I try first it says: Missing or Invalid Registry/INI entry, then it says: Old File does not exist till the end then it says: Thank you for installing updates!

Sorry to bump up an old thread but i'm having the same issue... and a couple of questions... 1)how do you uninstall the SK1 patch... and 2) anytime i try and download the night lighting patch it says i have to put in a product registration... and when i put in the serial no. both for SC4 Vanilla and Rush hour it says that the serial numbers are valid...

oh my god, thank you for that link!  I have been trying to download this patch for years, and ea's simcity website says that my serial #'s for my copies of the games (sc4 vanilla + rush hour) are not valid - even though I registered them 4 or 5 years ago.

I downloaded the British set by they just show up as huge boxes that say simcity.com on them: how can I get rid of the boxes and just leave the new lights?

those mean you lack some dependencies.. check if you installed everything.. within the mod and it's dependencies

Awesome , I have been struggling with that problem for a couple of years now. Its great to have the solution to that problem and be able to see my cities in a brand new light at night. Pun intended. Thank You so much for the solution to all of the darkness in my cities at night.

Im posting here because I didnt want to create a whole new thread, I hope thats okay. My computer recently got damaged during a power surge, I now have a new one and was able to keep the old hard drive as a secondary drive. I pullled all my sim city files from the old drive onto the new one, installed the patch and nightlight patch but still for some reason I get no night lights on BAT buildings, also, anything animated is see through, I can see cars, waves, and helicopters through my buildings. smoke from steam stacks is also a little weird looking. Any ideas on how I can fix all this? Thanks!

The patch sometimes doesn't "take".. look at the patch log.. if you have changed the file (.exe) for ANY reason.. even the smallest thing, it won't patch.. including mod'ding for "dual processors" (ie affinity). if you have changed it you have no choice but to replace your .exe with the one on the CD and repatch it.. After getting the file to the latest upgrade (the # depends on what your language/ geographical area is) THEN you may apply changes.. but get ALL upgrades installed

You need to intall the program files from the CD, then you can copy [overwrite] the program files from the old drive, that way all the updates will be installed.

Try to remember your previous account on simcity 4.com (if you had). You can allways contact them with your e-mail so they can give you the details.

What I did was install sim city on the new hard drive and pulled the BAT and Mod files over, then installed the update and patch from simcity4.com

hi all!i have downloaded some beautiful paris BAT creations from simtropolis.com but the night lights won't show up!I have downloaded the patch that is suposed to fix this but nothing happened!what can i do?please help me!!!

The game update patch should be installed before the nitelight patch. The SimCity 4.exe needs to be updated to version 1.1.638.0, before the nitelight patch. Once the nitelight patch is install the version will be 1.1.640.0.

I have a few questions about the nightlighting. How the heck do you go about downloading the thing for Simcity 4 Deluxe from the SC4 website if the website doesn't let you become a member (i.e. not sending you the comformation email)?

Please help b/c i really want the EP1 up-date and the thing to see nightlights on buildings.

Any help would be great but please don't use big computer terms i'm not that great w/ computers.

Just a quick thought (may not apply to your case?) - have you checked to make sure that you don't have a SPAM Filter blocking EA's confirmation email? - or dumping it into some type of bulk mail folder?

Ok that's sounds better thank you. Although i just checked and since i use comcast it wasn't there so i  reregestered using my hotmail ocount and the email was there but when i tried to regester my game (SC4 Deluxe) it said invaild and all that other stuff. It said that b/c i had regesterd the game before but i never found the email so now i can't reregester it.

So now i don't know what to do.
