Problem with Crashes

I've been experiencing crashes, esp. when trying to zoom out, fairly frequently. The thing is, I'm not sure it's my computer.

Some specs: Intel Pentium Dual Core processors 1.6MHz, 2GB of RAM, NVidia 8600GT card 512MB, and 200GB of space.

My plugins folder is about 4GB in size, with almost all the folders compressed using the datpacker.

Within the game, almost everything, details, etc. is set to high.

Now, my computer should be able to handle the game, right? Can anyone tell me what possible reasons there could be for the crashes?

Thanks!

Plugins, It's a conflict. The same thing happened to me. When I removed some plug ins (75%) it worked again. For a week...

EDIT: I also think the game cannot read compressed files.

    Hey simsmart,

I once had a problem with plugins problems too, though that time, when I tried to open a city, it would crash to the desktop. Here, I can work on things, etc. just that when I zoom out, or after a while, it crashes. Could plugins conflicts be responsible for slower gaming and late crashes too?

Re: compressed files, I thought compressing folders into dat files was ok, no? Else, why was the datpacker program created?

Compressing into dat files is completly different than "compressed files". Compressing files is a computure method to compact and save harddrive space. Every time a"Compressed file" I accessed it most be uncompressed for the computer to read it.So slow computer running occures. A dat file is a more advanced file that the computer can read read easyer. Look up "compressed files" on google search for backup of what I just said. Hope this helps.

Ah, ok, got it. In that case, I don't have compressed files; I just converted almost all the folders into dat files using the datpacker program.
