Very very nice! The textures look tremendous. Overall a very realistic building. Hope to see it on the STEX soon.

    yeah especialy the red ones.they are not even textures they are just colored objects.but i wanted small panels.

    The addition of Mikeseith's car reminds me of Cobb's Grand Hotel. He wanted to add things to the exterior for ST members who requested something. Neat idea, although the car probably isn't added to honor Mikeseith. Still a neat reminder. 1.gif

    Glenni, I hope you don't mind me shamelessly hijacking your thread, but I'm about to upload the new lots for your Herslebs gate in a few minutes, so I thought I'd show a few pics. 19.gif

    Let's start with the day view of the front side. You already noticed that the helipad fit on that raised part of the roof as if it had been made for it, which is the reason why I couldn't resist putting it up there. 3.gif I added some custom base textures and spiced up the front with a few billboards, storefronts and an actual entrance, flanked by two planters. In an actual running game, you would see Sims walking or standing around, but in pause mode, the lot looks emptier than it is.

    Next is a detail shot of the parking garage accessway and the rear of the building. Like the sims on the sidewalk, the car props I put on those parking garages will appear randomly in a normal game.

    The other side of the building features a few oudoor tables where people can sit down for a quick drink and an ice cream or a sandwich.

    Finally, the night view shows the well-lit parking garage entrance and decks, and of course, the blinking lights around the helipad:

    To be honest, I made a plop just to take some decent screenshots (the LE preview sucks), but then I added jobs and good stats and a neat custom menu icon so that those ploppers among you can plop this building, too.

    Ooooh, going against the trend, aren't you? Everybody loves skyscrapers, and you make a building shorter, you naughty boy... 3.gif

    I dunno, I liked both versions. 1.gif One detail I love is the steel staircase that leads up to the roof. Are you going to stick to the silver steel texture, or are you planning to dirty up things a bit?

    One thing I'd change is the balcony railings. I think they're a bit too fat. At a first glance, I thought that the balconies were solid slabs! 43.gif Another strategy to get a bit away from that drawers pulled halfway out look might be to slap individual slabs of washed-out concrete onto each balcony. Here, I tried to draw up a side view (X = concrete slab(s), S = thinner side wall, B = bottom/floor)

    You could even give each balcony a front railing composed of two slaps with slightly beveled edges, kinda like this (O = empty, X = slab)

    Those satellite dishes really add that extra touch of realism, great work!

    Have you thought about interrupting the balconies and making one or two columns of apartments with balconies, and a normal facade at the rest of the wall?

    Now there are some details about the roof about which I'm not that sure... those pipes are pretty fat, don't you think? And the skylights... while it's always nice to have something interesting on the roof to look at, there's just a normal, dead cheap apartment right under these skylights... oh well. Maybe we've finally found out where the Chav King lives. 18.gif

    I hope the roof texture won't stick out too much in game...in the preview shots, it looks rather bright. 41.gif

    Oh, I think I just had an idea bout the front: You could use that empty rectangle between the two window columns of the middle section to create the illusion of a staircase, simply by adding small windows (or glass bricks) between the storeys. 19.gif

    Hey, those pipe constructions at the side are an interesting touch... they almost look a bit industrial. Btw, are you going to leave the two narrow sided of the building totally empty and windowless otherwise? How about an external concrete staircase or something?
