crash to desktop

hello i have recently installed simcity 4 deluxe edition onto my laptop and whenever i start it it crashes and returns to the desktop. any suggestions on what to do to fix this?

well that sounds like some faulty plugin there. you should try removing any extra game file and c what happens.

What are the specs on sed laptop?

  410 @ 1.46ghz
1.46ghz, o.99 gb of RAM

You Might have to do one or all of the three things: 1. Install or Reinstall Your graphics Driver A. Go to your computer manfrct. Website, and go to support. 2. Install or reinstall the latest chipset drivers 3. Backup JUST the regions in the simcity 4 folder and reinstall SimCity4 alltogether.

You have some integrated controllers on that box.  If one of them is your sound controller, it is possible that SC4 cannot handle it.  This usually causes a full system crash, however.

I would definitely check all drivers, including the ones for your mother board devices.

If all else fails, delete the game and reinstall it.  Don't forget to put in update 1 from the home site.

And if you are not running disk cleanup and the defragmenter on a regular basis, do it once a week without fail.

i think it may be the sound. my sound is not cureently working.
