Another NAM question (Mac related)

I imagine this was probably answered in one of the NAM threads with 4,000+ responses but couldn't find it in there and didn't have the patience to read all the posts...

I have downloaded the NAM file to my Mac and have expanded but am running into problems actually installing the DAT files.  What program should I be using to open those files?  My Mac tries to open them in a Graphic Converter application by default and this doesn't seem correct.  I couldn't find anything in the ReadMe Installation Instructions that describe what you should be using to open them.

Thanks!

I actually had a related question, but I'm pretty sure that instead of actually opening the files, you simply have to place them in the plugins folder. Here is the info from the readme: --------------------------------------- For installation purposes be sure to place any relevant Network Addon Mod related files in the exact folder as it is represented in the ZIP file, otherwise some aspects may not work as intended. This will simply require cutting & pasting the necessary file(s) into the same folders. Any of the files contained in the NetworkAddon Mod that you use should be placed in: "...Programs\SimCity 4\Plugins" folder -or- "...My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins" folder. [or in a sub-folder of these]. Just make sure if you place any of the particular files in either location, that any of the files are placed in the exact same folder and you keep using that same folder location with each and any updates of this mod. Also be sure not to change the names of any of the files, otherwise some items may not work as intended. This will reduce the chances of problems and/or conflicts. Any files not used should not be placed in the Plugins folder, but rather placed elsewhere, otherwise some items may not work as intended. -----------------------------------

also note that the paths listed there in the readme would be applications\(whatever your SC folder is called) or user\documents\(SC folder). I was just a little confused if I had to use any subfolders within the Plugins folder. The ZIP has some DATs that I want to use that extract into their own Plugins folder, so I didn't know if I had to place those in the Plugins folder, or make a Plugins\Plugins for them. Hope my question isn't too confusing =)

Thanks for the quick response.  That seems to make sense and I will give it a try.

I placed the individual files that I wanted from the NAM download into the Plugins folder that was already present in the directory where my SC4 is.
