I just got SC4 Deluxe a few weeks ago and it works fine on my windows xp computer, but when I try to play it on my windows 98, it installs and everything and all seems to go fine, then when I try to play the game it gets to the part where it shows the big suspension bridge right when you click on it and then 14.gif it dies.45.gif What on earth is going on????

Your W'98 system probably doesn't have the right DirectX support.  I think on '98 you need DirectX 7.0.

Also, you need your virtual memory ramped up.  How much RAM does your '98 machine have?  You need at least 256MB to play a small city, and I really don't think Deluxe will work well in less than 512MB.

Notwithstanding the marketing bull on the box, I would stick to an NT platform.  The best one right now is either XP or Vista.

That happened to me a long time ago when I put it on another computer, It crashed after the bridge pic, my problem was that it somehow didn't install right, After reinstalling it worked fine on that computer...

Umm... I'm pretty sure my windows 98 comp has only 64mb ram. When I got it it had a win95 system on it, then i swaped hard drives with a busted win98 comp. Besides that it meets all the requirements. I know what I want for Christmas.
