I want to take a moment to address a worrying trend that I am still seeing, not only here at Simtropolis, but also abroad at other forums.

Rybolton and Voar Tok have previously admonished the poor conduct of some in the last few days, the poorly chosen words and comments made in bad taste.  I really can't stress enough that these types of comments need to stop.  Now.

We are in a unique position to interact with the developer of our favourite franchise, and they have been more than generous with their time to talk with us.  This relationship between community and developer is only possible so long as respect and civility remain the hallmarks of our communication.

Despite what we may think or feel about the new direction of SimCity, and Tilted Mill, now at the helm, we need to remember our manners.  As fans of this particular franchise, we have a right to be passionate about the game.  However, we do not have a right to slander, threaten or otherwise disparage the studio developing the game.  It is NOT our place to contest their RIGHT to be making this game, despite how some of you may feel about it.  Continuing to do so is not only counter productive, but will jeopardize our unique opportunity to talk to the people who make our games.  I will say it again: do NOT make Tilted Mill the issue.  Keep  the issue focused on the game.

It's imperative that we extend this respect to Tilted Mill's own forums as well, where we are all guests.

I want to let you know that the staff of Simtropolis will be taking a very strong stance on this, so please, take a moment to compose yourself before you post or your experience on Simtropolis will be severely limited. 

If the line continues to be crossed, rest assured that our open communication with Tilted Mill and EA will cease quite rapidly.  I know none of us want that to happen.
