Mods don't seem to work

Hello, 1st post. I have a problem with mods in my SimCity 4. Every mod in the STEX requires Rush Hour. I try to put a building in but all that shows is a cardboard box and the game crashes. Why do i have to own Rush Hour ? Why would Rush Hour affect buildings? I have Windows Vista and EA Classics Sim City 4 bought from Tesco about 2 years ago. Am i doing them wrong? I put them in the Plugins folder but as said above, they make the game crash. I tried installing the NAM but everytime i clicked on one of the NAM roads, the game crashed.

Any help at all is very appreciated.

Please - if You have simple SC4 (not RH or SC4 De Luxe) - You can't do something interesting on this site ....

Never mind about Your Windows Vista - if you have simple SC4 - you can rest, rest and REST ...

And my mind - FIRST You must look Omnibus section on Simtropolis - this is for YOU ...

Don't think so.. People abandoned standard SC4 long ago due to its limitations vs what people like to do.. So I'd say unless you get Rush Hour OR get a copy or SC4 Deluxe, you're just out of luck.. There are probably things that would work fine in SC4 but it has such a limited target audience that people just don't want to bother with being constrained.. so they just assume everyone has deluxe or RH.. No transport mods for sure will work. You are right that probably some elementary RCI mods should be ok. And no, I doubt you are doing anything wrong..

I'm kind of surprise that "classics" doesn't have RH .. its been out a long time.. GUess they just want to get that last couple of bucks out of ya..

You must have SC4 with RH or SC4 Deluxe Edition ....
