So I'm getting a new Macbook

Im not really sure where to put this thread but hoefully this is the right place since well this is the only mac section on this site. I'm getting the new SR macbook next week when I get my check. I'm pretty sure I want to upgrade the RAM to 2gb. It will cost me about $70 to do so. (Third Party source) But I was thinking, maybe I should upgrade to 4gb instead? It will cost me about $170 in total to do so. Will I notice a big difference between the two? especially when running mulitple applications and memory hog programs such as SC4 or the Sims 2 and is this even worth it?

You will probably notice a difference. I have only 1gb on my iMac, and it runs SC4 okay, but more should be better. I'm no expert though, so you may want a second opinion.

for that price i would get 4gb. thats not bad considering most "good" stix of ram cost $200-$300 each, depending on name brand for 1gb.

i'm playing SC4 on winxp via boot camp... and it's really the only way to play SC4 on mac IMO... the game runs fairly smooth (after a little loading when switching zoom levels) with the large city built out

i tried running the osx version of SC4 on my mac, and it was really just terrible... i'm on a macbook with 2 gigs of ram

Well I decided to go with 2gb. I don't really need the horse power of 4. Plus my chair has no seatbelt.
