Road capicity between city tiles

Hello, I have searched on the site for this subject and could no find any info.

Does anyone know the maximum road capicity between city tiles.  I use the nam but have increased highway capicity using data gen.  For some reason all of my neighbor connections between city tiles max out at 65535 on the highway connections.  The NAM has it set a 50000 for the radical plugin and I changed it to 100000 but they max out at 65535.  Is there some preset limit by maxis in the exe for that number.

Thanks

Sounds like a physical limitation of the counter.  That number is 64K - 1.  That is probably a sixteen bit unsigned counter.

From what I have seen throughout the transit modding thread, 65535 is the maximum number. Modders have been unsuccessful in trying to increase this. My suggestions would be to establish other road and highway connections if possible. If that is not possible, subway also works well too.

Well I was just thinking about that number 65535 and it sounds so familiar then I remembered that the hexadecimal value for 65535 is FFFF.  As N_O_Body wrote about it being a physical limitation.  The exe probably only reserves 16 bits for the capicity value thus we would be stuck with that maximum.  Maxis probably had to do this because of computing power I would assume. I do notice a slow down since I modified the NAM capacities and let my highways run to the max capacity.  I will have to experiment and see if all forms of transportation have this limitation and if there is a way around the limitation.

Thanks for the information N_O_Body & haljackey
