Where's my overlay textures and props?

I tried changing rendering settings, and all my overlay textures disappeared. When I changed back and restored all the graphics settings, the textures (and props) did not reappear. 

Could this be a plugin conflict?

Also. must I save the game for changes to save? Or can I just change settings and quit w/o save?

Some of the graphics options don't take effect until the game is restarted.

That's my problem, I did restart...the screenshot came after restarting.  I'm wondering if saving after restoring settings then saved a textureless city.  Last time this happened, I removed several new plugins and the problem reversed itself but  I didn't install any new plugins this time.

I don't know then, unless the graphics were somehow set to the default, which is low.

Ok, the mystery deepens...opened another city in the same region, it was fine. Went back to the trouble city, and almost all of the missing content had reappeared. I guess it's just one of those things! My guess is maybe there was a momentary glitch while loading. I guess we can delete this thread to save space. Thanks tungston, anyways.
