Schulmanator: Although the British were the ones who influenced Coulla, the French are the ones who influenced the Kimanoyo Islands, and they drove on the right there until 1946, when they decided to follow the rest of their country. Thanks for the comment!

suomi2005: Thanks! Updating Tokomo soon...? 2.gif

Mike the Mayor: Thanks! Phew, I was a bit worried about the station. Thanks for the support! 9.gif

    update_15.jpg

I was re-doing an area south of Nawako's CBD, and I just thought I'd post a couple pictures of it. I thought that it was a really good blend of modern and old asian architecture. Here it is:

    1-2.jpg

Here's an aerial shot of Kaitashing at zoom four. As you can see, I used the "el-rail above street" for the first time!

    2-2.jpg

Thanks to Amerikaner for pointing me to these beautiful train power lines. I think they make my CJ much more realistic.

So, what do you think? Anyway, hope you enjoyed it and please comment!

your pics definitely have a japanese feel to it.

looks like the el-rail over road just stops as it reaches the highway. i know there isn't a puzzlepiece that'll allow you to go over the highway, so you might want to dip the rails underground to a subway to bypass the avenue. you'll have to get rid of the street there, though. just a suggestion; the area still looks great!

Very nicely done. I like the japanese theme. You've done a swell job at making it accurate as possible.

The power lines do indeed make it a bit more realistic. The rail-over-road looks good. You gotta get some of those Chicago rail-over-road stations to go with it now!

Also, your teaser looks rather exciting.

don't forget to turn off the tap: Thanks! Haha, I like your username!

Dsrwhat316: Thanks! Oh no, that's not the end of the line. I just wasn't finished building it, that's all. Thanks for the suggestion though!

helsinkisvit: Thanks! I hope that Update 16 will be the best yet!

jacqulina: Glad you like it, and thanks a bunch for the grape fields!

Shingure: Thanks! Accuracy is what I'm all about (lols...)!

NMUSpidey: Yes indeed, those Chicago rail-over-road stations are so beautiful. Thanks!

don't forget to turn off the tap: Thanks! I was inspired to make those hotels out on the water after looking at Jargeah a few days back.

petertrom: You've been to Dubai? Cool, I really want to go there! Thanks!

auckland: Thanks! That was my goal indeed...

Schulmanator: Thanks! Glad you like it...

helsinkisvit: Thanks! Glad you like it too...

    Update_16.jpg

So here we go with Update 16! Today, I will show you guys Moedo, the capital city of the Kimanoyo Islands, Coulla's Hawaii! I was inspired to make some hotels out on the water after seeing Jargeah, so my goal today is to give it a Dubai feeling, mixed with Coulla's original Southeast Asian spirit.

    Moedo

Moedo (moh-ay-doe), is a city with a metropolitan population of about 2 million, and is home to mostly housing, but an area home to skyscraper hotels is present due to the high tourism demand. Because it is so isolated from the rest of Coulla, businesses other than tourism aren't very large, and many people cannot afford to build fancy houses. But outside of the slums is a beautiful tropical island spirit, home to hotels stretching out onto crystal-clear water, the burning sun high in the sky.

    9.jpg

Duque Royale Hotel, home to two main buildings, and a large swimming pool.

    8.jpg

Coral Lagoon Resort sits at the edge of Mahihi Beach.

    preview_16.jpg

Kanakwa Tower, an office building owned by Masami Electronics, sits on a man-made peninsula jutting out from Sehui Beach.

    10.jpg

Keneha housing district is a favorite among Moedo's residents, due to the sprawling beach right next to it.

    12.jpg

Le Parc Royale Field, home of the Moedo Dolphins, the Kimanoyo Islands' only major league football (soccer) team.

    11.jpg

Hiaha Temple, one of the few Zaist temples of Moedo, due to the major Catholic influence from the French in the 1730's.

Wondering what that's all about? In 1732, French explorer Miguelle du Duque came across the Kimanoyo Islands, and claimed the land for the French, who occupied it until 1737. During the occupation, most of the Kimanoyo Islands' citizens were converted to Catholicism, and to this day about 70% of the population still follows the Catholic faith. Let's continue on now...

Palm Boulevard, lined by gigantic coconut trees.

An overhead shot of Moedo, giving you a clearer view of the area.

Despite all the skyscrapers and beaches...my favorite was...the rice patties!!! I love rice...can't live without it...

but everything else is still cool!

    great wiki page, too...

just curious...if most of them are Catholic...why a Buddhist symbol for Coat of Arms?  Just tradition?

No no no yoshikoroyimara, you've got it wrong, lols! If you look at the map of Coulla on the first page, the Kimanoyo Islands are at the very bottom. Most of the citizens of those islands are Catholic, but most of Coulla follows the Zai faith (Coulla's home religion). That coat of arms is a mix of Zai and Buddhist symbols.

I am ready to cancel my spring vacation plans and fly out at once. That is a wonderfully tempting beach and resort area. And chance I could get a Simtropolis discount on a luxury suite with an ocean view?
