Hello all.

I´ve read in the forum that you can build a city without industry putting it in a nearby city.

How can you do it?, I´ve tried it and it doesn´t work for me, nobody went to work to the nearby city.

Should be the working city full developed?.

Can I build it without population?.

Can both cities develope at the same time?.

Thank you in  advance!!

Fernando.

You would need to work each city as they develop. The industrial city need not have either one of the other, residential, or commercial. Commute time can some times be a problem.

It is possible to put residential/commercial in one city, and the industry in another. You just need to put the proper road connection(s), and the industry shouldn't be too far from the residential.

Anyways, I usually put industry in the same city, and when the the city and education grows, I get rid of the dirty industry and either replace it with high tech or commercial.

Make a rail connection to your industrial city and plop a trainstation close to your residentials in one city and close to the industries in another city. That will help you with commute times a lot. Also don't build the industries on the other side of the map in the neighboring city, but close to the residential city. When the residential city doesn't grow anymore, save and go back to the industries and build some more industries there, the same for the residential, whenever one blocks, playing more or less both cities in each turns. It helps also to have some commercials in your residential city
