cant render my map

ok...i follow all the directions and ive repeated all the steps 4 times and i still cant get it to work

everytime i open the image to render it when i press ctrl + alt + shift + r it does nothing.....the box just dissappears and nothing happens......anyone know whats wrong?

If  you are doing what the instructions say, it should be working. Do you have a slow computer?  You wont see any instant results, after toy pick the picture you have to wait for the region to render, it could take a while to happen depending on the size of the map. if you could get a picture or something to show the problem it would be eaiser to help you. If you have a slow computer the problem could be time, just wait and something will happen, if not, then something else is wrong.

If you read and follow the Installing a Region Downloaded from the STEX article in the OmniMaps section of the Simtropolis Omnibus, I believe you'll be able to get your region installed in SimCity 4.

Check your grey scale map.  It must be jpeg, it must be 256 color grey scale.  I have had some that were marked RGB.  If you need to change this sort of thing, you need a powerful editor like the GIMP.  GIMP is free, and smells and works almost like photoshop for a lot less money.
