Well today i decided to dust off the old sim city 4 case i had sitting around and install it. After installing it i went to play it, it did the loading symbol on my mouse for 4 seconds then stopped. I tried multiple times, then i downloaded the newest patch and i still have the same problem.

Is there any common fix for this?

Specs:

  128MB Nvidia Geforce FX 5200

  2.6 GHZ P4

 1150MB RAM

 Windows XP

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

What OS do you have? Did you download anything that could cause a plugin conflic or did you mess with (or delete) any of the "Simcity_X" (where X is a number) .dat files? If you did, reinstall the game. Although that might not be a bad thing to do now.

Okay, i found the problem it was my exe somehow being corrupt (?). So i downloaded (don't hate me) a new exe file and it loads the game up. But now when i get to the part where it says SIM CITY 4 in big letters it crashes.

Take a look at your Exception Reports folder.  If there is a report in there at the time of your crash, please post the first 25 lines(only) of it.

    Have you updated your game?
