Large Hospital

Not sure if this is the correct place for this...

I'm new to modding buildings, and am thinking of designing a model for a large medical centre.

The design will be largely based on the design of modern hospitals in the UK - though will be of a higher density than those found here.

I'm thinking of making the medical centre about 8x8 or possibly 10x10 tiles. This is a more realistic size for a hospital than the ingame medical centres. The intended trade off is that a single hospital will serve a larger population (maybe 300,000 people, covering most of a 4 x 4 km city square).

A few things i need to know are:

1) Is there any way of changing the parameters in game to make the service size and range larger?

2) If this is possible, is there any way of calculating a scaling factor for the capacity / service range of the new hospital in terms of the number of old large medical centres?

3) Would a medical centre of this plot size appeal to the community? I've found that with large city populations, many large medical centres are needed to satisfy the population - hopefully this will remedy that somewhat.

Any advice on this would be very helpful

Cheers

Chris

1) yes, in the in game query menu, or there is the plugin manager, wich is required if you are going to BAT this.

2) i dont understand, sorry.

3) I dont really think it has any effect, mabye there is a setting you can adjust on landmark effect, or something like that, good luck man.

P.S., there are already a couple like this on the STEX, but i am hoping to see a teaser soon!!

The second point was just that I hoped to set say the capacity of this new larger hospital to around that of about 8-10 times that of the large medical centres - firstly to reflect the larger plot size, and second to make it so that only one or two of these hospitals are suffucient for a large (4km x 4km) city square.

    Cheers for the reply

I might start one of the buildings tonight actually. I've found a building that i'm hoping to base one of the sections on (Watts building at the university of Brighton).

Also, I found that the file for one of the other, smaller projects I started (A council house) seems to have become unopenable, I guess the file has somehow become corrupted.

    Is this a common occurrence?
