Hello, I'm new to your lovely site. I've been playing Sim City 4 for about two years now, sans plugins or modifications of any kind. I muddled my way through city after city gradually figuring out a very complex and elaborate game (I dislike reading instruction manuals, haha). I only recently found your site, not even knowing that there was such a dedicated SC4 community out there. In a marathon session, I read through the omnibus and many tutorials, and I learned more in four hours than I had in two years. You have helped solve persistent problems for me, like the awkward traffic patterns I would see in my cities (shortest distance vs. shortest commute time, etc).  I want to say thank you for helping me make better and bigger cities than ever before

No I am not from the South.  It just seems appropriate.

We are always happy to welcome serious players in this serious game.  It sure is a long way from an FPS.

I advice extreme caution in using the custom content on this site.  There is so much good stuff you could drown in it, wrecking your game, cities, regions in the process.  There is a thread about this around here somewhere in my name titled "Plugin Mania".  I think it is a sticky, so you should be able to find it easily.  Some people have thought it worth a read.  Enjoy.
