Can one ghetto city destroy high-tech demand for the whole region?  I have a region of 3.7 million, and every city was flourishing until I built a ghetto city...now ive lost all my high-tech demand region-wide and my cities are full of people without jobs.  Anybody know what to do without destroying my ghetto city?...because its realistic to have ghetto areas, every city has them.

super demand mod. there was a forum where you could download a version of it that can select one bar like high tech and get only high tech and nothing else.

THAT IS SOOOO RETARDED, The damand should add to the region not subtract...so basiclly Maxis made it so your only goal can be to make every city clean and smart...not a farm city, a ghetto, a rich town ect... I wish Maxis would sell the Sim City name to some one who will finally make a version we wont have to mod the crap out of.

One ghetto does not wreck an entire region. My regions are about 70% middle class with a small ghetto population, but they aren't dragging everyone else down. High tech industry is building nonstop. I can't even zone fast enough to meet demand. What's the size of your ghetto? A true ghetto should not exceed more than 10 to 15 percent of the total population in order for hightech industry to continue flourishing. A ghetto that is over 50% of total population will kill hightech demand, due to the influx of uneducated low skill people who are useless to the technology guys. Seriously, if you're going to build a laboratory conducting leading edge bio research, are you going to go to Smart City or Idiotville?
