Rocketoink: As a mark of our new parnership, IHOPe Trusts will ensure that you won't need an emergency fund. Don't worry about it; if you suddenly need emergency funds, we'll loan you the money without interest, although I doubt that will be necessary. Feel free to proceed!

Benedict: Quality work; thanks for getting Newark's trains moving!

rocketoink - Okay, If you don't need it then I wont

jacqulina - Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it!

Benedict - Nice, I'll put that on the website!

    iamihop11 - Agreed.

lilmanjs - The industrial population of Newark is around 80,000 in a city with 150,000 residents That would mean Industry supplies 53% of the jobs in Newark (which is alot because Commerce currently outnumbers Industrial Zones) Industry currently is too stable in demand for your industrial sector to fully mature at the moment. When more residents move in and the demand changes, then so will your industrial sector. Currently it hasn't really changed at all. You may ask ObladiOblada for photo's though if you wish.

    rocketoink - Good luck!

Obladi: I wrote Iamihop11's profile/bio. I may add some pics of the projects later, but for now this is enough. Let me know if this is what you were looking for or if I need to change something.

Iamihop11 could be considered the first major developer in Newark, with his project of Lina Park, which has since been expanded into an entire suburban town. He is currently involved with or owns five separate developments, Lina Park, Talliup Corner, Old Tower Park, Vienna Tower, and his own house property in downtown Newark. While most development has occurred in the outskirts of Newark, Iamihop11 has generally focused more on downtown, and has a large project currently in the planning stages.

Feeling that Newark's environment needed a helping hand, Iamihop11 founded the first organization in Newark, the Schop Institute, which is a non-profit that helps developers build parklands, and also pursues projects of its own, such as the downtown park called Old Tower Park. Donations to the Schop Institute are always welcome! The SI Director's Panel is comprised of Iamihop11, MPTC, ObladiOblada, CTF, and 2nerdy4u.

Finally, following a wave of company creations, Iamihop11 began a successful loan company venture called IHOPe Trusts, which offers Newark's developers vital capital to get their projects underway. "Never lose HOPe!"

    Okay, that's all.

Looking back through the pages and pages of this CJ was quite a treat. I'd forgotten just how quickly it grew. I'd like to have updated pics of downtown Newark, so I can revise my most recent project and resubmit it. I'm not sure if I should wait for those panels to be on the website or not. Please let me know how I should go about developing at the moment. Thanks!

    Ihop

    Skram - Thanks!

iamihop11 - Nice bio, and yes I should make some before and after sections, Newark is moving very nicely

Zarp - All over Newark basically, I'm going to open new parcels very shortly on the website and most are still rural so you'll beable to tell...

ObladiOblada - LoL it's sooooo cool to be watching someone else update! Keep up the good work...

willg - Very VERY nice, I have the price for you. I do have a suggestion, nothing mandatory... put it alittle further east so it won't overlap farms... That will cancle out the destruction costs and make it slightly cheaper to biuld. Also, biulding hotels around Airport (regardless if you or another person decides to do so) will allow you to piggy back points from the business so I would keep that in mind...

lilmanjs - Be alittle more specific, there's several city names on the maps of Newark on both this forum and the website, name the rural town you wish to see... Not trying to be mean it is just updating something this massive is quite hard as is, if we keep things precise then that will allow you to see what you wish to see and allow ObladiOblada to update quicker...

There's a MAJOR update for the website coming very soon. Also, I have updated the 202/A2 Tollway video. There will now be two versions, a low quality fast loading version, and a higher quality version (with music and extra goodies, I'll simply say I highly recommend you watch it after I upload it.)

Recently ObladiOblahda sent me a P.M. [excuse me if I spelt wrong] asking if he could get a clearer picture to work out what to build. So, here it is. i1335493_D1v2.jpg

If that isn't clearer, I dunno what is.

Edit; that 'small fire -so%so-" is a small fire station. Stupid watermarks!

rocketoink - Not bad at all... remember that the police stations / firestations will not be built prior to their storyline introduction (also there's way too many police stations in one area, one station could easily cover that entire city.)

It's fun how rocketoink wants to mix up industrial, office and residential oO

Just a personal tip, organize it better, keep industry at one side of the river and residential/commercial at the other.. Take it if you want =P

You know, a building like that would cost an arm and a leg...and it wouldn't really pop up in a city this small and industry-oriented, would it? I mean, I like the building -- it's very cool architecture -- but I feel like these scrapers are coming a little soon... and definitely too cheap. Anybody see what I mean? I think we should factor in consruction costs for big buildings, so it's a while before it becomes practical to invest that much money in a building that size. Just my thoughts, not my call. Cheers, and thanks for all your work, Obladi!

I agree with a iamihop11.. I live in a 300.000 inhabitants city, it has some big buildings and skyscrapers - mostly residential - but I barely see huge commercial skyscrapers, just one here and there.. I don't disagree in building big skyscrapers, but like iamihop11 mentioned, these buildings should be slowed down a little.. just my 2 cents =d

iamihop11 - I agree, unless land restricts it for whatever reason, cities typically grow OUT before they grow UP. I'm going to fixate a way to make it more expensive to biuld skyscrapers so they won't clutter the place, existing ones however will not be penalized.

Yoshiisland - I didn't know the game had an in-game recorder. But I used an WebCam ripping tool to do it.

    Zarp - I agree

willg - Very well, ObladiOblada will handle your request. Oh one thing though, you biult the airport right ontop of the East/West Connector... I'll let it slide and ask ObladiOblada to make a tunnle or go around it.

    ______________________________________

Nice work ObladiOblada, Newark really isn't ready for this kind of development however. We're not trying to make it into a big city just yet, we're just playing it a step at a time. Also you didn't factor in the purchasing costs or destruction costs for the tiles you destroyed. Regardless this is okay. Next time you want a skyscraper however, it MUST fit within the city block, as in... no roads can be moved or destroyed without asking first.

Remember the basic idea of this CJ is to keep it as realistic as possible as a city grows into a metropolis, it will not happen over night.

This biulding may stay, just be aware next time.

Proceed with Willg's airport but wait before biulding yours... I really really think that you should just biuld an additional runway and split the costs with WillG as Global Village is still easily within the metropolitan area of Newark. You can in-turn request a bridge but Global Village isn't economically standing to support an airport... and the island itself really isn't large enough for that matter.

But overall, I am happy with what you are doing.. keep up the good work and thank you!
