Great update! I was wondering if there was space between the rail tunnel and Newark Central for my proposed Newark Vienna station? That would improve service in the city center. If not, then if there is space between Central and Park Place.

Hey guys. Obladi has donated 100 hard-earned points to the Schop Institute, a non-profit that focuses on keeping Newark green and clean. I would like to match his donation and add 100 points to the S.I. I challenge all of the investors of Newark to match this, or to donate as they are capable! With points, the S.I. can help developers pay for parklands. Without them Newark's future is bleak.

1. A loan of 400 points, meaning you have to pay it all back eventually, plus 30% interest per simMonth. You can pay it back over as long a time as you want, but realizing that the interest will add up more if you wait. This option only lasts until the loan is paid back. The total would be 520 after your income next month.

2. A grant of 400 points, which will sort of be like a partnership. You don't have to pay back the money, just make IHOPe Trusts a partner which receives 5% of whatever the project yields each month. IHOPe Trusts would be a partner and more willing to help expand your ventures in the future; this option is more permanent and cooperative.

Yoshiisland - Awsome, take your time. When you're done and ready, I may request signs for The East/West Connector, Lantia Parkway, and Atlantic Drive. That lot would be an excellent way to produce highway custom highway signs for the masses upon request aswell... No rushes no worries and thanks.

MPTC - I'll definately need it. The courses are 8 weeks rushed and crammed for 2 straight years with almost no breaks. I can't afford to miss a single day.

Benedict - There just MIGHT be, it would be real hard pressed and the Newark Central Station really overlaps its coverage (most heavy passenger railways have stations very spread apart) so I kind of figured it wouldn't be worth the effort to biuld (alot of overpasses after the tunnle). Between Central and Parkplace would also be very difficult because of the rail junction to the seaport... It would actually be kind of pointless too because there's no development between those two stations that isn't covered...

I've been around, and I've been checking the website and here about once a day, I just haven't had anything to say. Everything's looking awesome, though!

Yeah, let's finish the Old Tower Park project! Sorry about the delay -- I wasn't sure what its status was, or whether the SI had enough points. Now I expect we do.

Finally, you can go ahead and transfer those 400 points whenever you get a chance -- no rush though, until Rocketoink confirms.

Well, I was trying to see how I could deal with the overuse at Central And there are some cities that have a couple of stations downtown on their mainline heavy rail netwroks (example: Edinburgh Waverly and Edinburgh Haymarket). I leave that up to you! And thanks for updating the points.

willg - Oh, okay sorry for the rush. For the MPTC request, are you talking about Lantia Parkway? If so, Lantia Parkway and The East/West Connector are on the same alaignment, they're technically the same road when The East/West Connector meets Exit 0, Lantia Parkway begins from it.. Lantia Parkway can't be extended Eastward to your development, only westward. If you're talking about Benedicts railline, then that won't be any problem.

Benedict - Good point... It would require massive construction to biuld a bigger station. You can possibaly just extend the current one just by using another "Passenger Rail Stop" .

Yo, I have been watching your CJ and I wanted to participate. However, not like everyone, I wanted something different: crime.

If you take my idea, I'd like it to be kept as a small "secret", at least till the business get big. I'd waste points to buy guns and hire people to work with me and get points if the crime is successful, what do you say? ;D

It would be a nice "diversification", not to mention it would encourage people to invest in policing forces.

Zarp - Sounds interesting but how exactly did you have in mind (system per-se) did you intend on committing crimes and how did you intend to compensate for them? It would make for a nice storyline addition too...

Nienaber - Civic services such as police, schools, fire stations, hospitals are only provided by the city, I.E. noone can own them... Three reasons, 

#1 They make the economic appeal of Newark and I don't want Newark to have TOO many nice areas TOO soon otherwise it would be unrealistic. 

#2 If everyone owned a police station around their development and lets say there's 5 developments spread out on a Parcel, well thats 5 police stations biult when the city could probably get away with only 3 that cover those areas with their coverage. That would really hit the city budget.

#3 I have a storyline intro for Police Stations that require there to be a lack thereof... remember, Newark is currently owned more by its capitalists than its government. Thus the large companies and industries, and wealthy have a firm grip of Newark. Services such as Law Enforcement (because most of them are crooks anyway) would really hold them back from their goal.

rocketoink - Take your time and decide... Plan one he charges you interests, and he's no haggler so you won't need to worry about "EXPLOSIVE" interests rates, his last loan was 100 points and the dude only needed to pay back 130 points... Plan two, well you pay him monthly for as long as your development exists... cheaper in the short run but it'll add up in the future...

You see, I'd be just another criminal that every town has. My intention was to start from the bottom, then climb into the underworld ranks. The points are something that you would be in charge of, by that I mean, you choose how many points I get from each crime. I thought about a success chance for each crime, however when there is no police that chance might be very low..

What do you mean by compensate the crimes? Someone always get screwed up, that someone is almost always the victim =P

I have many plans in mind, like buying farms and HT laboratories for drugs purposes.. starting a "gang", you know, stuff like that.. Keep in mind I can change some of my ideas to fit in your "plans" or even the storyline itself. By the way, keep going with the storyline, come on, I know dealings are so nice and stuff, but the story is very very nice as well, I would like to see it keep going!

Zarp - lol okay. I meant by compensation as in how would you earn points for your crimes... I'd have to think of a way to accomplish that. I have no intentions on stopping the story either, it is just I really need to get the website fully operational before I return to Story Mode in which might not be too long from now seeing as though the project has been divided into three people. But yeah... If you want to jump in the story right now even just PM me with some plots and we'll work something out.

Zarp: haha, sorry, I often forget that not everything in a comment transcends the internet. I wasn't trying to say anything about you. I guess I had just thought of simCrime as a faceless, amorphous entity. We do need an antagonist, though. So while I won't wish you luck in your endeavors , I admire your creativity! My dad's a police chaplain here in the States, and I have a ton of respect for the hardships officers get paid a pittance to endure.

rocketoink - Yes not bad at all... I am transfering the points to IHOPe, did you want to use any of your own to go with the loan to complete your development?

Nienaber - Developments near the Highways (East/West Connector - 202/A2 Tollway) are offering 60 Point Residential Grants and 40 Point Commercial Grants if you use atleast 15 tiles of medium density for either. Thats 100 Point grants which might be enough to completely null the costs of a development and even in turn give you some change. I would try that for now as you won't have to worry about extreme expenses and you'll beable to earn points from those developments as investments. When your points are high enough, then I would go for the pretty stuff. Newark is a big region and there's still plenty of empty space so nothings going to change anytime soon. Even if we fill up, I'll just expand the region (after I upgrade my memory)
