I've been to Fredricton once, and I knew a guy from there when I was in high school. Does that count? 3.gif

And if it makes you feel any better, I don't even know if there are many Ottawa'ers here besides myself, and it's a fair bit bigger than Fredricton! At the very least, I'm almost certain I'm the only one here who's lived in Peterborough. 9.gif

yeah, i've also been there! its a nice place i guess, i was only there for a day passing through though. maybe if you changed it to who has been to fredricton or broaden it to New Brunswickers or Atlantic Canadians.

I also think i'm the only one here from St.Johns. kinda makes me feel weird 3.gif or maybe they are all enjoying their shed party too much to log on lol

    Its Fredericton, not Fredricton... XD

So were you guys only on the highway, or did you actually stop by?  I'd like to hear some stories, you know, to see what it's like for the tourist!  9.gif

we actually stopped by for a look, we went into town to find a gas station (which was only 97 cpl than :S) and we took a little drive along the waterfront and than we spent 20 minutes struggling to find a way out of town. i know its only a small city but my dad is dumb as rocks. it was quite nice but too me it looked pretty much the same as St.John's just a little smaller. i would visit again i think, if i go somewhere i have to see it all 3.gif

Gods, it was ages ago, before I was in high school, that I went through Fredericton. As I recall, we just stopped in the town to pick up some supplies, and spent most of our time in the area out at King's Landing.

Granto: So you went to downtown?  Did you see City Hall and the Legislature?  Nicest Buildings in town except for the Christ Church Cathedral, just to the west of downtown, very big, very nice.  9.gif  I'm sure you would've seen the steeple...tallest thing in town.  Not that many big buildings here.  9.gif

i saw the City Hall, i thought it was a church at first but than i read a tourism thingamajig that said it was the city hall and i was like COOL 3.gif i dont really remember the legislature building though. and yeah that must have been the church i saw, it reminded me of home where the two towers of the Basillica tower over the city. It was a nice city but i prefer coastal cities like Halifax, St.John's or Charlottetown.

There have been times where I wished Fredericton was on REAL water too...but then it wouldn't be the capital, would it?

    EDIT: Pictures!

well, i guess its good to have a couple Atlantic Canadian cities that are not coastal, brings a bit of variety to the table. When people vist St.John's and Halifax they are basically seeing the same thing over again. i only prefer living by the sea because i am used to it. It has its downsides.

Cool pics. Kind of reminds me of my hometown, which is Peterborough, ON. I think I mentioned that above, but I can't remember. And I'm too lazy to check. 3.gif

Really?  Peterborough?  I would have never thought!  Haha, Peterborough...vs. Maritime Capital!  Muahaha.  (Sorry for being so weird, sleep deprivation does stuff to the brain...)

Haha... well, they're similarly sized cities as Peterborough is about 75,000, and Fredericton about 84,000. Fredericton is a little older (late-18th century vs. early 19th) but it looks like they both have a lot of that solid 19th century British architecture, at least from your pics. Here's a couple Peterborough examples... maybe you can decide if I'm crazy or not. 3.gif

Apologies for the minor thread hijack, btw... I hope you don't mind me pimping my hometown a little. 2.gif
