Well, the first time I registered under a different name, there were only thirtysome members on Simtrop.......that was sometime in fall 2002.

Fall 2002...that means simtrop will be five years old, is anything planned to celebrate this?

The member list was reset upon the arrival of (i think) ST 2.0, which was on January 10, 2003. I consider that date to mark the start of Simtropolis as we know it, though the community itself began in earlier months.

^^^actually, it was January 11th, the same day SC4 was released. That's why so many old members have that as their join date. Most of them were members at the old SC4 Discussion Zone that got their accounts transfered over here.

If you count SC4 Discussion Zone as Simtropolis, than it is around October/November 2002, though I don't know the exact date. Rybolton and dirk do, though. Where are they anyway?

D'oh, i had that in my original post but I second guessed myself and edited in the wrong date 3.gif

And I didn't know that accounts were actually transfered, I had assumed that members had to re-register since post counts were not kept intact.

They may not post much, but their hand, especially Dirk's, is very much visible all over the direction SimTropolis has been taking w/ SC5, Monte Cristo, and staffing additions.

Yea they do a lot to keep this site running!

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

Hard to think I've been ehre for four years.

I remember getting in a big arguement because I had problems installing the BAT software, and I was gettin' impatient.

Ahhh, the memories. I was, what, 12?
