You can't play SC4 for extended periods, without saving. I uses too much memory. If it is crashing very quickly, then that might be solved.

You do need to list the computers basic hardware, i.e. video card, memory amount, and processor.

You can try setting the game to run on software rendering in the meantime.

I have the same problem with my game crashing.

It was all fine and stuff for..well, all the years i had it...the i got a new computer, and i get alot of crash :S

I use alot of mods and dl stuff from this site, but its not the mods fault, becouse it have always worked for me on my old computer.

    My old pc:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3400+

    Motherboard: Asus K8V-MX

    RAM: 1024 Mb

    GFX: Radeon 9800 Series

    HDD: 120 GB Maxtor

and the game work just great.

    My new pc:

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13Ghz FSB1066 2MB Box

    Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI nForce650I SATA2 DDR2

RAM: Mushkin RAM DDRII 2GB PC800 Kit EM 5-5-5-15

GFX: Gainward PCI-E GeForce 7900GS 256MB Golden Sampl

    HDD: Same as above^

with this i get crash 15.gif as you k1fox, all my other games work just fine.

It is normal for the game to crash. If you have a conflicting plugin, it might cause your game to cause constantly crash.

You might want to use the DAT Packer, it really speeds up your game and your game won't crash very often.

i use the same plugins as i always did, i see no reason why it should start crash just becouse i get a new pc...but maybe sc4 is too old for all the new hardware 3.gif crazy idea.

but i will take a look on that dat packer, i have it, but never tryed to use it.

With your new computer being so much faster than the old one, it will load up the memory faster.  If you are doing a lot of building while zones are developing, you should save fairly often.

Also, graphics cards, and drivers can cause crashes at times.  Try running the game with the software rendering, to see if that might be a cause.

You also might check the Asus web site for BIOS, and chipset driver updates.

I've been having the same problem! I got a new computer with these specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6 GHz)

    3072 MB RAM

    400 GB Hard Drive

NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE (128 MB)--Getting a new card at the end of the month

I've heard it might be the dual core processor?

There has been reports that the AMD 64 has a problem with the game. Some have reported results from nixing one core for the game, with the task manager.
