Restarting from scratch

My laptop's hard drive recently self-destructed on me, and I've been forced to manually reinstall SC4 and re-download everything I had in the game. Took me a long time to do so, but now that I have almost everything back, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with one last thing: farms. My dad's computer has a folder crammed full of farm lot downloads, and I have no idea what to make heads or tails of it. There are dependancies and various incompatibilities spread out all over the place in that folder. I'll have to actually look at that folder and list all the files, but it's just too much for my poor one-track mind to handle.

Any help? Please?

Could you transfer the folder to your laptop with everything else? As long as you have the farms and their dependencies, it should be good as new

Now that you have had a horrible experience, also remember to do backups to off-line media about once a month.  I recommend either a CD-RW or a DVD-RW.  Expensive media, but reusable.  Just back off your entire My Documents\Simcity 4 folder along with your Program Files\Maxis\Simcity 4\Plugins folder and you will always have recoverty up to the time you did your save.
