Hi all, just 2 somewhat random questions for all you experts out there...

1.)  Is there any way to determine regional demand?  For example, I'm worried that perhaps I have too much R$, and not enough balance between R$$ and R$$$...is that something I should be concerned about?  Most of my city's up until now (I have about 800k regional population) are all exclusively R$ with the exception of a few R$$ and R$$$ neighborhoods.

    and...

2.)  This question is a bit random but I saw a picture of a city in the City Journals of what appeared to be a trench / trough with a rail line in it and buildings / roads on either side...I was wondering if there is a tool that can dig a tiny trench like that.  The terraforming tools seem to dig too much but somehow this person was able to dig just a narrow section of land...any ideas?

    Thanks!

    1) No, demand can only be use in a indivdiual city. The best indicator of demand in the region (not really a demand inidicator is the number of jobs shown below the city when you click on it in the region view. But there is no tool for regional demand. Not yet.

    2) They were made with the hole digging lots found here.

    1. There's no real way to determine regional demand. When you play different cities, the demand bars readjust to reflect demands for that city. It is possible for one city in one side of the region to have different demands compared to another part of the region.

    2. I think you are referring to the road digger set of tiles. I don't know the link to it. Its really handy for creating those tight trenches and sunken highways.

Try searching for the RCI Query Upgrade Mod on the STEX (by Equinox) and the Regional Tracking Tool by daeley on the LEX over at sC4devotion.com

There is a tool for determining regional demand. The Census Repository Facility, originally created by Ralphealninja will give you the information you need. The repository was updated to include more data by Ripplejet, Census Repository Facility, Version 2 . both are excellent and invaluable in determining which direction to develop in a region. Search the Stex for either creator, I use Ripplejet's.
