Elevating real railways

I don't know if it is possible, I have searched here and other places but if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

In some parts of Holland the railway is elevated and not just the light rail system. I am trying to build this in my cities to make them realistic. Also the stations are elevated, does anyone know where I can find some. Please don't confuse this with the EL-Rail system, this is for normal trains.

First of all, welcome to the site. If I recall correctly, there is an elevated, heavy rail option included with the NAM (Network Addon Mod) which originally included only straight pieces, but I think the most recent version has mor options. I'm not sure about stations yet, but if the new NAM has expanded the el-heavey rail options then I would bet there would be some stations on the way soon. I know it's out there, but I don't know how developed it presently is (that would be a question for someone who really knows for certain).

All those level crossings sometimes look unrealistic in large cities, perhaps modding the el-rail track to allow freight traffic would be a solution.

I use the ground lifter tool and create a dike of at least four tiles wide. I lay the track and stations on top, with road access up to the stations. Four tiles wide allows you to put cross streets in tunnels under the dike to imitate underpasses.

As threestooges said the elevated rail pieces from NAM is what you are looking for. I think I just know one kind of station to this type of rail but it's perfect! Look for the simrolle's SBahn set.
