The Lighter Side of SCS?

One of the quirks in SimCity games pertains to Maxis' lighter side.  The franchise has always had a fascination with spline reticulation, Ocean Quigley, and of course... pardon my caps... LLAMAS!  We complain about the tree dwellings and gingerbread houses, but we loved our Llama Dome, our Tourist Trap... which is devoted to God's greatest creation, and even the world-famous "llama speed." 9.gif

With Tilted Mill taking the helm, I fear that Maxis humor we know and love is gone.  Hopefully Tilted Mill has some humor and will keep us entertained with stories about broccoli and... LLAMAS!

LLAMA LLAMA 40.gif!

Edit: I should've searched Whimsical Traditions.  Go on about your business and close this up if you want. 46.gif

The Llamas where a staple of the game, just like city hall or librarys. They can't take them away.

SAVE THE LLAMAS!!

That's what I love about most of Maxis' games is they manged to make something fairly realistic but with a lighter style to it. Hope Tilted Mill can continue ths tradition

Well... The Sims has that creepy party-crashing mime, but it's more sad than funny. Let me reiterate... what SCS needs is, pardon my caps again... LLAMAS!!! LLAMAS are hilarious!

Yeah, Llamas are simcity's inside joke. You can't just not do an inside joke. Mimes will most likely be a failure, and nobody's gonna be happy except the mime people, and there's not a lot of those.

    WE NEED LLAMAS!!!

    And more !s.

mimes simply cannot compete with the inherent hilarity of llamas, perhaps Tilted Mill is trying to make its own stamp on the series

They have gone too far. First they kill the concept (the brain) now they take away the heart. If I could get my hands on those monsters.

Whats another animal similar to llamas? Perhaps they'll use that, or use a more futuristic animal 9.gif

Have you noticed how the concept of llamas have diminished in SimCity 4? Although there is a Tourist Trap, the main focus, it appears, seems to have shifted over to rhinos (rhino speed; rhinos in god mode's animal creator; etc.)

Then the custom labels would have to be imaginary and talk of the awards would have to be silent. 41.gif

Perhaps we could have the Golden Llama Mime Awards? 47.gif The llamas pretend to be trapped in boxes and they can even pull magic ropes across the desert.

To give all this a proper tilt, shouldn't the mill be able to refine Alpaca wool?

Frankly Llamas are an ill assorted bunch, present company excepted, and have the disposition of a camel.

Alpacas, on the other hand are more like long necked sheep.

Then, again, the Tilted Mill may be liable to suffer the fate of Le Moulin Rouge in the children's story in my old French reader.

We wish everyone to do well while doing good.  A good business motto, think you?

I'll let you go this time, but you shouldn't insult your fellow Artiodactylae. 2.gif

David, I'm quite glad to see you here... perhaps it's not too late for the llamas?  I really hope you guys at TM will keep that tradition alive, and from the looks of things, it appears that there will be humor thrown in.  I'm not sure if that will sway me to buy the game, but as long as there are inside jokes and alpaca humor, I'll be happy. 1.gif

Let's see here . . . the debate is between llamas and mimes? I say we create mime llamas! We shall call them . . . LIMES! No, that sounds stupid. How about Mamas? So confused . . . TopCliff
