Win xp service pack 2

Is anyone experiencing trouble with running simcity 4 with xp service pack 2, with all the newest security updates, etc?  I mean, Simcity ran fine on windows two thousand, but not on xp...

edit: some info y'all might need:
I'm running on xp home, with all the latest updates.
I have maximum virtual mem and 1gig of ram...
Trying to run delux edition.
And the exception report says: "ACCESS_VIOLATION"

Is there any further info in your event logs? Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> Application

Are you running any other (possibly unusual) applications in the background?

hm... actually, i dont have any difficulties running sc4 on my xp sp2

i ran it on an xp ever since, sp1 and then sp2 as it was released.

allways with the latest os-updates.

no problems at all... apart from lagging due to too many plugins

I tried turning off the intro, so now the region loads.  But when I move my mouse, the game quickly crashes to the desktop.

mike_oxlong: the event logs have nothing about simcity... and I don't think I'm running anything unusual in the background...  guess I'll just have to run simcity on windows 2000

There are several people hi-jacking this thread.  Please, if you have a problem start your own topic.

There is no problem with XP SP2.  I have been running it for years, and I have all the latest updates.

How large a set of plugins do you have?  Were they all tested individually when you installed them?

Is your game fully updated to either build 638(Update 1) or 640 (Night lights fix)?

Right now, I have no plugins installed into the game, except build 638... maybe I'll try to run it with the night light fix and see what happens...

Edit: Ahh.. Fixed now, turns out that xp, simcity4, and my video card don't mix... just had to import win2000 video settings and everything works fine now
