expansion packs for SC4

After reading that IGN article, I think it is pretty clear that EA got what they wanted, and that was to bring SimCity down a notch so that they could they new gamers into the SimCity world. However, in doing so, they also angered many loyal SimCity fans. What I think EA should do is continue with this SimCity Societies thing, but also develop and release more expansion packs for the current SimCity 4. I know I read somethign about them wanting to do many more expansion packs, than just Rush Hour for SimCity 4. Now that would appease the current SimCity fans and I'm sure we could come up with hundreds of ideas of new expansion packs for SimCity 4.

Any thoughts? Ideas for expansion packs?

I agree with you. SC4 is fine. The graphics are acceptable and the game appeals to us. Makes everyone happy.

exactly. why ruin a good thing? if EA does expansion packs, then they split SimCity into two new paths. one for this new society thing and then a continuation of real urban planning. plus i think simcity 4 is as difficult as it can get and the expansion packs can improve that.

That was years ago when they wanted to do more expansion packs. The Sims was gaining significant popularity at the time and so Maxis was most likely forced into making expansions for The Sims and had to leave Rush Hour as the only expansion pack for SC4. It's kind of late now to go back and make expansions for a game that has seen no support for years.
