Freezing when saving

Ok, I have had this game for a long time. Can't really remember how long. Lately I have had an odd problem: Sometimes when I try to save the game, the game freezes. The sound still works and I can move the mouse around, but I can't click anything and nothing happens. This happens randomly.

Here's some fo my system information:

Windows XP (professional)

Intel Pentium 4 2.80 GHz

512 Mb RAM

up-to date video and sound cards (Radeon 9600 Series is the video  card, I think)

I also have the following mods/lots installed:

CashPark

Hole Digging Lots v2

Left to Right road switch mod

moderntollboths v131

NAM Light Rail Station 1

NAM Jan. 2007

poles1

Slopemod v1

Street Light Color Pack V210

Zastavka (I can't figure this one out)

Some other information:

-I have SC4 and RH, SC4 is English and RH is American version (this has never been a problem on any other computer I have played the game on)

-I have had crashing problems (game randomly crashed for no reason), however I have gotten rid of alot of plugins a few days ago and haven't had any crashing problems since then.

-This new problem started after cleaning out the plugins. It seems to have replaced the crashing problem.

I'd appreciate any help at all. Thanks!

I am surprised it runs at all.  The American version is right-hand drive, the UK version is left.  There are some conflicts that may not resolve.

You are a little thin on memory for XP, and cannot run this in Vista.  I would try a 256MB upgrade if feasible.  In any case, try setting your page space (virtual memory) to maximum (4096MB).

If you can, get a new copy of deluxe which includes SC4+RH.  This will eliminate any compatibility problems, and then update to build number 638 using Update 1.  You can carry forward your existing regions.

Ok, thanks. I hope to get a RAM upgrade soon, but I dunno if I can get a new copy of Deluxe. SC4+RH have worked fine on all other computers I've played it on, for some reason. What if I got rid of the left to right road switch mod? Would that help at all?
