Textures/props disappear on part of my city map

Just the other day my game crashed as I was zooming out. This happens once in awhile and isn't a big problem (I save regularly anyway). However, when I restarted the game this time, the textures disappeared from my lots on one localized section of my map (e.g.. the parks just look like grass, the buildings don't have any props, etc). Normally, I'd assume there was a downloaded BAT was causing some kind of conflict, but how come it's only affecting one portion of my city? (about one-eighth of the map) Is it possible the file is corrupted?

I suppose a picture would probably help a little.

Here's a rather striking example of what I'm seering. Notice how the boardwalk is fine on one part of the map, and completely screwed up just a few tiles over (also how the parks and paths look all weird). These texture problems aren't scattered throughout the map, but instead are localized to a long strip of the map along one side. The only modd I've added recently has been the June NAM, which I tried uninstalling, to no avail. When I bulldoze the affected areas and replace them they look fine, but when I save and restart they get all screwed up again.

    Any ideas?

Interesting.  Try setting your graphics settings low.  Quit.  Load. Set them high again. Quit and Load.

Something isn't getting set up right.

Do you have a large set of plugins?  If so, make sure you have maxed your virtual memory.

Ah yes... I know the bug well. See the link in my signature at the bottom. Unfortunately, I don't know what causes it or how to prevent/fix it. Since I reported this bug I've noticed several other people have it as well, so at least you'rea s not alone (for whatever that's worth).

You can also have a look at a similar thread I started at SC4 Devotion, where a few more ideas have been discussed (also to know avail, however)...

If you do figure it out, please post it. I'd love to know about it...

Thanks very much for the replies. I'll fiddle around and see what I can do, as it would sadden me to see an entire strip of my city go down the proverbial toilet.

pnorrell: I read your other post and I must admit that was a very meticulous description; you should be the posterboy/girl for how to properly describe a game bug on this forum 4.gif
