Some what Newbie Help-making RCI specific cities

Ive been playing SC4 for a while now. I am trying to make an industry only, comertial only and residential only city (all connected of course.) I know if you have the industrial city feed the residential city with power and jobs, polution and such will not flow into your residential town. However, when I try to make them, I can't get any city to take off. The industrial city will develop a demand for residential while industry drops off. The residential town will demand industry while residential demand drops. How do I go about making these cities?

Get used to jumping back and forth between the cities for a little while. build in your one city till its demand goes below the line, then switch to the other city, rinse and repeat over and over again. once you start building medium and high density residential (and I'd definately suggest waiting a short will till zonning these types of density), you'll notice your job demand will constantly be up, and you could probably get away with building an entire medium city with all commercial beforedemand goes down.

And set your tax structure in each one to favor the kind of city you want.
