Al Burj

Yet again Dubai is attmeting to make another record holding building called Al Burj it will stand at 1200 meters 3,937 ft double the height of Taipei Financial Center. Its stated to have at least 200 floors and be used for residential and business needs, the building is said to be on 631,000 square meters thats 6,800,000 square feet.

its unbelievable what Dubai people will come up with and they probably will come up with taller towers

i wonder if anyone will be able to BAT this? i said it was ugly because a day shot of this shows its horribl;e paint scheme that was origanlly proposed now i cant find that photo

Yea but if you look at skyscraperpage.com it is only yet a proposed building. Hopfully it wont get built, because i think that they are building to big to fast. That is the same thing that happened to the US rite before the Great Depression, I can predict seeing it having its own minnie depression. Plus its not safe to build on all that sand with those heavy buildings, i know that they build foundations for the buildings but it just doesent make any sense to me why they are bulding so tall at rapid speeds, the city isnt even that big.

No, I personally don't think that the same thing is occuring as it did before the Great Depression. Again, in my opinion, it appears that Dubai is experiencing the 70s of America when we were in a massive boom for skyscrapers. That's when Houston created the modern glass skyscraper, when the World Trade Center was built and many other skyscrapers in New York City, and when the massive boom occured in Chicago and along the Magnificent Mile.
