Could someone make some more land colors?

I love the mars land tereain but I would love to have some more colors like I would love to have Pink,Purple,Blue,Yellow,Grey(like the moon),and light grey but I have no Idea how to make terrain myself.If someone could theach me or make some I would be very thankful.

This is an excellent resource on how to make custom terrains. Custom Terrain Tutorial

However, it does not tell you how to create the textures, but I believe I can help you or at least give you an idea or two. Attached below is my original test terrain from way way waaaaay back, which I like to call Candyland. It changes your terrain into a nice rainbow.

It's a single zipped DAT, just drop it into one of your plugin folders and make sure you do not have any other terrain modds in your plugin folders. I just tested it with plain copy of RH so you shouldn't have any problems. If you do you might have a modd or two installed conflicting.

You should be able to use the tutorial to edit it however you wish. Have fun!

cool!  i am goin to use your texture for terraforming.  i like how it lets me see the elevations easily.  after i do my work , i will remove this file, and textures go back to normal, right?

Exactly! You could also Modd it so that the colors only change for moisture level and not elevation. It look really really funky that way!

nice to see you back, Teirusu, bringerererer of snow, rain and desert.

strangely enough, i kind of like the multi-colored terrain...it sort of reminds me of a landscape survey type picture one might see (even seem to remember seeing similar such pictures of the landscape of Venus when we sent probes there about 10 years ago).

 

i like to fish...those landscapes are pure madness...though i do like a couple on the bottom row, to the right-handed side.

Oh dear... I didn't realize the link was dead when I found the thread a few days ago.  I read through it but didn't attempt to download the file, so unfortunately I don't have it or something of my own creatation.  Back when I created my terrains I did it all by hand in notepad. I might be able to recreate it, it doesn't seem to be that complex, but probably is time-consuming, but I can't really guarantee any time frame on that.  It would probably be faster if someone else whom had it reposted it so that we can both get it. -Teirusu
