doubtlessly stupid questions

hey. before the stupidity let me give you an idea of where i am. i last played and loved sim city on the snes, so its been a while...i've been a mac user for a few years and would say that i more or less know what i'm doing. only ever previously played c and c generals on the mac, and that was a much more simple thing. so having tried to find the serial number etc etc i found my way here and, thanks zelgadis and kbooms, have downloaded and placed into my plug ins folder the lots and nam stuff. great, been playing the game, its going quite well. got my first city up to about 60000. last time i loaded the game it came up with an error message saying plug in 818542436 wasn't suitable for my machine and that i may experince graphical errors. seemed fine, i tried it a couple of times and it said the same on each. game seems to run ok but it did freeze when i tried to save (after hours of meticulous, good, work. is it likely to have been due to the plug in or just one of those unlucky things that happen? i looked in the plug in folder and none of them have that number? i saw two .exe files and moved them out, tried again and the same happened. obviously not them. also dependencies. i have the buildings which look like they are wrapped in brown paper. i read that that meant a dependency wasn't fulfilled. would that be an in game condition that needs to be met, or is it that its dependent on having the correct plug in? one final ask. the u-drive missions. do i have to bother doing these? they don't particularly appeal and several of the rewards have become available to me just playing the normal game, is that true of all of them or do i need to plough through them so i can have my major league stadium? anyway, thanks for all the help so far and thanks in advance for any to come. regards james

Okay, as far as I can tell, you have three questions.

1) The plugin error means that you're missing a building that you had previously put in your city. Have you thrown out any buildings lately?

2) The packages mean that you're missing a dependency. Some of the buildings on the STEX have more props and textures that go with them. You have to download all the parts for the package to disappear.

3) You don't have to do the u-drive it missions. It's just an extra that EA threw in a the last minute. You can get all the extras just by playing the game normally.
