Hi! I'm trying to add a logo to my query. I've read the tutorial an followed it, so I have the basics covered. I want to put this logo to the left of the close button. I guess I have to add some kind of line before the last one (the one that starts with LEGACY clsid=GZWinBt) but I don't know the coordinates or the parameters I have to add (i think it's just image=) but the coordinates are a lot more trickier (al least they seem so). I someone could help me, I'd be very glad. Thanks.

Take a look at an existing query, eg. the one for RalphaelNinja's Census Repository Facility.

Open the file CensusRepository_dd41d65.SC4Lot and locate the UI file near the bottom of it.

Note the lines near the bottom of the UI file in text view:

#Ninja Turtle

<LEGACY clsid=GZWinBMP iid=IGZWinBMP id=0x00000000 area=(12,384,56,428) fillcolor=(222,232,227) winflag_visible=yes winflag_enabled=yes winflag_moveable=yes winflag_sizeable=no winflag_sortable=no winflag_pbuff=yes winflag_pbufftrans=yes winflag_pbufferase=yes winflag_pbuffvid=no winflag_alphablend=yes winflag_acceptfocus=yes winflag_mousetrans=no winflag_ignoremouse=yes image={6a386d26,2c28965f} imagerect=(0,0,44,44) notify=no transparentbkg=yes edgeimage=no >

<LEGACY clsid=GZWinBMP iid=IGZWinBMP id=0x00000000 area=(56,404,121,428) fillcolor=(222,232,227) winflag_visible=yes winflag_enabled=yes winflag_moveable=yes winflag_sizeable=no winflag_sortable=no winflag_pbuff=yes winflag_pbufftrans=yes winflag_pbufferase=yes winflag_pbuffvid=no winflag_alphablend=yes winflag_acceptfocus=yes winflag_mousetrans=no winflag_ignoremouse=yes image={6a386d26,2c28965e} imagerect=(0,0,65,24) notify=no transparentbkg=yes edgeimage=no >

Those two <LEGACY clsid=GZWinBMP... lines add the pictures contained in the two PNG files located a little higher up.

They are referred to by the image=() part of the lines, which point to the Group ID and Instance ID of those PNG files:

image=(6a386d26,2c28965e)

image=(6a386d26,2c28965f)

The area=(12,384,56,428) of the first one tells you that the upper left corner of the image is at (x=12, y=384) and the lower right corner of the image is at (x=56, y=428). The width of the image is 56-12+1 = 45, and the height is 428-384+1 = 45.

    32.gif It's official now. I'm too silly  to do this...

    I've spent hours trying to add the logo, but still no result. The logo is 100x30,so  I decided to put it under the close button.

    This is my line:

    <LEGACY clsid=GZWinBMP iid=IGZWinBMP id=0x00000000 area=(12,130,112,160) fillcolor=(222,232,227) winflag_visible=yes winflag_enabled=yes winflag_moveable=yes winflag_sizeable=no winflag_sortable=no winflag_pbuff=yes winflag_pbufftrans=yes winflag_pbufferase=yes winflag_pbuffvid=no winflag_alphablend=yes winflag_acceptfocus=yes winflag_mousetrans=no winflag_ignoremouse=yes image={1d0470ec,7a39d2db} imagerect=(0,0,100,30) notify=no transparentbkg=yes edgeimage=no >

    And this is how it looks before and after....

    It's frustrating only in the beginning, you'll get over it 3.gif

    Could you show a screenshot of the text view of your query?

    It is kind of hard to get your head arround custom querys and I don't fully understand them myself. Here is a trick you could try. If you plan to insert a background image into your query you could always Photoshop your logo onto the picture. I also add some text to the background image using this method. That way you don't have to work out all the coordinates. With a little bit of practice you can soon make a reasonable query this way. I find it is easier to change the colour and font also. Of course you can't do this for the game stats just additional text that you may want to add. The usual stats appear in the blank space.

    Example of a photsoped custom query:-

    Problem solved... I don't know why, but when I turned up my pc today, the logo was there. I tried it again with a residencial and it happened again, but I discovered that I could see the logo if the area where it was supposed to be, was visible while the top of the query was visible too (not scrolling, if I scrolled, it dissapeared).

    Still, it would be interesting to place the logo with photosop. How do you do it? Because, in my computer, photoshop won't open the extacted query (with the ui editor)... Something to do with the file type...

    I never use the UI editor myself , I never could get to grips with it. I choose a background picture and add the logo text etc onto it all in photoshop. The logo is added as a new layer and the text is then added using the text tool.  Its easier to add the border in Photoshop as well. When I am happy I add it in (as a png) using I-live.

    One note though. It's my understanding that larger photos take up more space on the drive and slow the game. If you're making custom queries for each individual bat you're probably better off avoiding large photos.
