Experimenting...not always a good thing :o)

Hello all,

I have recently been having issues with getting the night lighting effects working on some downloaded BATs.

After much trial and error, I thought it could be the fact that I was using a not quite so legit copy of the Rush Hour expansion pack.

After acquiring a legal copy, I backed up my cities and all my plugins and started from scratch.  I installed SC4, then the Rush Hour, then installed the SC4 update.

I then installed Gmax, the BAT utility and finally the BAT update.

I imported my cities and added all the plugins.

I fired up my main city and BLAMMO..."Let there be light".  I don't know if it was the No CD crack or the fact that the copy was not legit, but now I have night lights...YAY

Here is my problem.........

After setting everything up, I have no cars, buses, people or greenery.  All of my parks are empty lots and all of the standard SimCity lots have no props in them.  It seems that the BATs that I installed have their props, but none of the factory stuff is there.

Any idea what I may have done?

P.S.  It's always better to be legit than download a copy of the game.

You probably have your graphic settings set on low. In the graphics menu, there's an option for "City Detail". You'll want to set it on high if you want to see all of the details.

And you actually don't need Gmax or the BAT to see the nightlighting, just the updates.

Turned up the settings and it was all good.

ive had that problem with the graphucs right down and your city looks 'amazing'

a note: if you want to see all the props... go with medium or small tiles. Large are death! Your computer will hate you if you fill alrge tiles with high detail, few computers can ahndle it
