Game crash while loading city

I'm trying to load a city on my SC4, but the game crashes to desktop whenever I try. I have two cities backed up from when my computer screwed up and I migrated them to this computer. One city loads fine, but the other crashes. The one which crashes is much bigger than the other, but it loaded fine on the old installation. I'm thinking it could be some plugins I downloaded, but why would the other city work? I'm also thinking it could be corruption. I hope not. Any ideas?

Well, let's start with your system configuration, especially what RAM and Virtual memory you have.  How large is your plugin folder?

    AMD Athlon 64 1.8 Ghz

    Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS

    1 Gig PC-3200 RAM

40 Gig and 80 Gig HDD, with SC4 installed on the 80 Gig drive

    Windows Vista Home Premium

The plugins folder under Documents is 30 megs.

I'm not sure how to check for virtual memory.

Yeah, I've tried clearing the plugins, but no luck. Any other suggestions?

Well, dig around on the virtual memory.  Your help files should tell you.  I am not running Vista now, and i forget where it is.

The other possibility is that you need to run in XP compatibility mode.  You just set the exe for that in properties.
