Thats my city thus far. It just started making money. What should I do to improve my city? I know I messed up with the industry part. When I start getting road choas and want to make an avenue. Is it alright to break down some buildings to make way for it?

Is there a way to move my landfill? I placed it right in the middle of where I ended up expanding.

Thanks for the taking the time. Love to hear what you guys think.

I have to recommend putting more thought into how you arrange your zones, and how you connect them with transit networks.  Right now it looks like you just started somewhere, and just zoned stuff according to the RCI demand.  Now that you have money, you can go back in and tidy things up.

Don't worry about demolishing things.  The buildings will turn back into demand, and they will rebuild somewhere else.  just make sure not to demolish a lot at once, because then they won't be able to rebuild somewhere else in time.

Also, put in trees and parks in the city to reduce pollution, and increase desirability.

To get rid of the landfills, just make enough incinerators to burn all of the garbage, and eventually it will all get burned.  Then you can just de-zone the landfill.

separate your industry from your residential areas.

your roads need more structure. when you separate your jobs from where people live, it will be easier to control the traffic. try to direct it into a tree/artery pattern. make sure streets are not thoroughfares.

you will break even on your budget sooner if you start by only giving the sims power, and then gradually adding services that you can afford.

I just broke even on my budget. I am having trouble trying to get trains to work. I'll build them to connect to other cities, but they never get usage.

About moving all my industy together and away from residential. Is it too late to switch it all around?

Its ok to destroy buildings to expand a transit system, but if you don't want to, use bus and subway systems. as for your landfill, you can create a landfill in a neighbouring city and export all your garbage their, if you send all your garbage out your landfill will empty and you can dezone it.

    Good luck
