Reema - The Beauty of a Region

~REEMA~

The story of this region began with just 4 dollars. That 4 dollars had paved the way for 350,000 people that live there today.

The region was chartered in 1878 as a mining area. But the mines are no longer there. Instead towering buildings sit upon the soil and much of it's cities and towns show natural beauty.

reema.gif

Time to give a short tour. I will show random pics from each city with captions just so you get each place's drift.

Tyrus-Dec.png

This is a picture of the capital . Tyrus is one of the fastest growing cities and is currently feeling the heat from demand of one of the fast growing populations. It has the highest density and overall the city is known for it's hot dogs. 48.gif

Carrigy-Jun.png

This is Carrigy a city that is considered a suburb when in fact it houses about 70,000 people . The city was the first to incorporate the idea of trees on streets. When they did the other cities had decided to follow suit . The city is also one the places where history comes into play. The canal that you see in the background was orginally dug out in 1730. It took from 1710 to 1730 . When it was done they named it Port Carrigy Cross. Since then the city has rebuilt the canal and has built up to avoid the flooding that once occured in 1958.

 Mataen-Dec.png

( Oh no a zot.. Sorry folks tastyzots didnt work when i put it in. )

Mataen is by far the most natural city in terms of the way they preserve their land. The bay is the most beautiful part of the city. It was the second oldest port called Gaaln. But the port was burned down by a fire that was caused in a bakery. This city is known for its orange row homes. These row homes where orginalloy built in 1840 but were rebuilt in 1900 , 1943 , and where considered land marks and rebuilt in 1986.

  Yoten-Sep.png

Yoten is the newest city founded in 1920. But people were living there in the thosands by 1895 . The city is known by it's suburban feel even though it isnt classifed that anylonger. They are also known for there canal that was suprising formed naturally . The canal runs adjacent to the river and also is considered a place of serenity.

Vimaus-May-1.png

Vimaus is the City of Roads. For years bizzare road projects have been going on here. They are also known for Junction Bridge. The Juction Bridge is a bridge that links the center island  to all points north in the county. They are also known for their excellent education system that is taking care of thier 150,000 or so people. They were the former capital until 1978 when it changed to it's sister city Tyrus. This city was the largest port. Port Largo. The port was home to 60 docks and a great host of shops. Port Largo was abandoned mysteriously.

And there you have it an overveiw of the region. I will give the next update in a day. At the most 3 days . So keep a fast and sharp eye out ok. Until next time...SEE YA!

Great start. Lovely terraced housing, it reminds me of the industrial pre-war housing found in typical British inner cities.

homeandaway- Thanks. Im trying to make this CJ last alot longer than my other ones. Anyway I'll check the other place out.

granto93- That was the line used in my old Cj. Wellingstone - Bringing the old into the new. Im great at making cities that are mixed up.

Mike The Mayor - I think when I downloaded that a while back it said something about it being from industrial pre WW2 britian. Thanks for dropping by.

jacqulina- It's and honor you came here and thanks for your critique. Im also going for the big city - green city look. . .

Schulmanator - Lol , Trust me each city here has it's own famous food . Also the potential is something I have been looking for in the recent moments. All my other cities failed before this Cj.

    update 2

    Vimaus

    Vimaus-Aug-1.png

The Upharie District is a R$$ area. Many people that live here love the beauty can be seen all over and they can access center city by the Dollar Sign Expressway. Since the time of the French immigrants the area has few French buildings left.

    Vimaus-Nov.png

This is the French Tip. The French tip is the place where you will find the most French architecture. The Dollar sign expressway allows easy access to Central of Upharie Distict .

     Vimaus-Oct-1.png

Finally the famed Junction Bridge. This bridge cost over 4 billion simoleans. But it's worth every penny ! This allows people to get from Hill to Kingsessing's Corner or to Central Island or vise versa. This bridge is also meant to help increase trade between Vimaus and Yoten.Vimaus-Aug-2.png

Kingsessing's Corner was originally the Dutch Part of the city but since then (Then as in 1905 ) Things have changed. Many buildings that were built in the 1930 to 1940 re-development plan now stand today as high rise ritzy homes. This are is also known for their Doughnuts.

    Vimaus-Oct-2.png

Hill is a seemingly urban mess. It is settled on a industrial district which wasnt really popular with the people. And today many still arent in love with the area.

     Vimaus-Aug.png

This area is considered to be south Upharie even though it is really Jacqulina Park. The area is like the younger sister of Upharie. It also has the oldest ballpark in the region dating back to 1857.

Well that was the tour of Vimaus. Until Then Byes!

jacqulina - Thank you...It took over 2 gigs of bats and mods to make my cities look the this.

homeandaway - Thanks . The 3 way intersection bridge was built peice by peice over a level sea bed.

Voulpiotis - Well you level the ground under the water to a level where you can see it getting lighter and from there on different places build on and off peices. Then you work your way to the center which you choose and finish it off with a 3 way intersection.Simple really.

    Anyway to update 3!

    update 3

     Tyrus-Dec-1.png

This is Tyrus city...Well known for thier plaza's and hot dogs. As you can see this city is very dense and is in fact a cause of extreme population. In a small area ( meaning a small tile ) They have managed to cram about 118,000 souls. But it's downtown is it's signature landmark with it's tallest building being the Coyt Tower. ( Well Really it's a functional version of Sears Tower )

     Tyrus-Dec-2.png

This is the Savera Section of the city. Known for it's density by dollar amount. Now adays new laws now require residents to live in apartment buildings and projects. No matter how rich or poor due to the lack of usable space.

    Tyrus-Jan.png

Just South of the Savera Section of down we call it the Tyrusan Section of town. It was primarly settled by the French but when the High Density bill of 1987 came in they built up and intergrated with the moving populations.

     Tyrus-May.png

Olga Terrace Street is home to now 4 projects. 2 are from the Unkin Housing Authority and they other are respectively named Hughgo Tower and Homeandaway Terrace Tower. This area was during the 1960's into the middle 1980's was failing area. Crime boiled the streets. Riots occured . And many businesses moved to Central Tyrus.

    Tyrus-Jan-1.png

A picture of the 2 completed towers. In the right bottom corner you see a highway tunnel. The tunnel is used to carry thousands of cars a day across town.

Also how can I forget about Tyrus Hot Dogs.

    Tyrus-Mar.png

This was the square where it began in 1919. One hot dog that was sold here sparked a phenomenon . The Tyrus hot dog is a hot dog that is 10 inches long and is about .75 of a pound. A true marvel. They say that you are part Tyrian if you have eaten one and you live outside the city.

    -Replies-

The Big Z - Thanks. That so far seems to be the highlight of my CJ currently..Lol.

Cjah - I know.. I was looking for some hi rise housing.

Ok well lets get retarded  started.

    update 4

    Mataen

The city is called one of the most beatiful cities out of the 5 that make up the region .Formerly called Port Gaaln by Dutch and French settlers many set their homes here for it's beatiful scenery. Lets take a look shall we.

      Mataen-Aug.png

This was the first road built in the city that supplied traffic.. Over the years it has transformed from dirt to brick to asphalt . Traffic here is now bad. In this town of 35,000 it has one of the highest ratios of car users .

    Mataen-Oct.png

Dravis Rock is an aquafier that was drilled into in the year 1903. But the plant became backrupt and they decided to make it city landmark. Water now cascades down a waterfall that was hollowed out in one side of the wall. The flowers were already there but the rockbraces came in 1980 when they had a landslide. The landslide caused hundreds of deaths and millions of dollars in damage.

Ok so now we will go on to Neighboorhoods. This town is infamous for people to get lost in. Ecspecially if you dont live there.

    Iwa Lake

    Mataen-Aug-1.png

Iwa Lake is a strip of land on the border of the city that boast commerce. The lake is beautiul blue with colors of flowers dazzling around it.

    Cashche

    Mataen-Aug-2.png

A district that spans 2 blocks by one long block. It used to be for the rich and still is.But in recent years the housing has given way to rowdy tenants.

    Bayside Community

    Mataen-Dec-2.png

One of the few industrial communites that is actually not all that nasty and dirty. It's diagonal streets are something that make it distinct.

    Rosestaat

    Mataen-Nov.png

Home of many Dutch and descendants of first settlers live here. This area is known for parks to be in the back of their houses . And since many people are having nice sized houses in crapmed spaces they can have they bitter sweet life so to speak.

    Tall Platz

    Mataen-Oct-1.png

A area designated to skyscapers. This area was built for rising commercial demand in the late 1960's . The skyscapers were placed here in hopes of saving the city's veiw of the bay.The lake is also a landmark being the burial place of Rehn Ton Mataen who saved the city from being swallowed alive by Vimaus in terms of land rights

    Qes

    Mataen-Oct-2.png

The richest part of the city in terms of where the money and taxes is coming from. This was settled by the french originally and remained rich throughout all these years. But many Germans reside here now.

    Centra Cit Ly

    Mataen-Sep.png

Translated as Center City from the Gaaln dialect this is home to one building that is about 35 stories tall. The area is poor but much talent comes from here like Kintley Nears and Chiles Caskson. The area is also known for it's smart persons . And many politicitans live in this area instead of Qes.

Anyway 5 is coming up...Hold tight..And please comment. I love critiques.

Mike the Mayor - I was looking into turning the icons off. I cant really seem to find the switch ( preference 2.gif to cut it off.

patriots_1228 - I was trying to see if there was a way to cut the zones off. Is there a mod for that . The tastyzots cheat works finall with help of the extra cheats Dll. But and the way I take the pictures I make sure that the toolbar doesnt show. I do shut it off for large or full shots of the skyline.

    update 5

           ~carrigy~

    Carrigy-Jul.png

This is the newest city in terms of signifigance but it is one of the fastest growing places . They still find ways to enclose the natural beauty that makes the city green.

    Carrigy-Jan.png

This is a picture of the Single home and Rowhome Project 1. The purpose of this project allows people to own their own properties while allowing the city to make less of a time handling such high density messes like the one Vimaus is having ( Future Chapter)

    Carrigy-Jan-1.png

This is a medium wealth part of the project. Many people say that living with houses in such a way allows them to co react and that living cost are about 600 dollars lower then they are in medium and high density apartments.

    Carrigy-Jan-5.png

This is Trentwaldorf . A community of mixed architecture and one that holds the largest population of the city, about 32,000 of the 68,000 people that live here.  They are also the city that incorporated project ' Green Street Side ' That allowed trees to be placed on the sidewalks. They are serving the city well cutting the cities air pollution down 50 percent.

    Here are more pictures.

     Carrigy-Jan-4.png

    Carrigy-Jan-3.png

    Lake Sywe

    Carrigy-Jan-2.png

    CANAL DISTRICT

The Canal District is a district that spans from both sides of the canals outwards until the avenues and highways border it ( Which is aboout 1 or 2 blocks on the southern side and 3 or 4 short blocks on the north side ) This a picture of the Ritz Area. ( Im serious it's called that.. )

    Carrigy-Feb-7.png

And this is the over view of the canal district

    Carrigy-Jun.png

    The West Mouth.

    Carrigy-Oct.png

Anyway this is all...Wait for it...It's closing..

    Gerrica: Why?

    Why what?

    Grace: Why so soon?

    Carrigy-Mar-2.png

Jixion Development is the lastest housing development to inner city Carrigy within the last few months. This is pictures from the 3rd month of construction. As you can see there are some single houses which wasnt supposed to be in the plan. But the designers insisted,no

    Carrigy-Mar.png

This is development is located in Outer Carrigy called Frothorn Heights . This is the construction of the place 9 months ago from Carrigy Main Road.

    Carrigy-Jun-3.png

This is the same area now. The area boast alot of small house architecture from the Dutch. Here are more shots of a same area and an evening shot last.

    Carrigy-May-1.png

    Carrigy-Jun-2.png

    Carrigy-Jun-4.png

And those are the City Developments for now.

    ~ Airport Upgrade ~

    Carrigy-Jul-1.png

This is the airport in 1985. 1 Runway in..1 runway out.. That simple . Recently they have been going through serious renevations and this is the fruit of their labor.

    Carrigy-Jun-1.png

There are now 5 runways. 1 for small planes. 2 for Municipal and Domestic flights and the last one for International flights. The return for Domestic flights is shared with international since there are not many flights and most of ther airport services Boeing so naturally you will se alot the gates.

Not much there . But now the last thing you have been waiting for ...Night shots..

     PAGE 2

Many people say that the poor fire response was the cause of the fires going out of control. But in fact smaller fires were popping up around the Vimaus , Tyrus and Carrigy area. Being overwhelmed and not enough hoses allowed many to go unchecked. Garret West of Qes lost his 500,000 dollar studio in the blaze and he was angred. " This city is the worst when it comes to the health , safety and welfare of the people " He said angrily. " We blame mayor Chouska for this so called mishap that killed over 200 people in a matter of 12 hours. "

When asked the question the mayor declined to answer. He said that all questions should be held at the press confrence this evening at Cornerstone Hall in Centra Cit Ly.

Many enviromentalist groups say that this is also what the effects of global warming contributing to high tempuratures.
