The City Of Encarta

1990's Growth

In the early 90's the city of Encarta, located on St. Louis Island in Clark County, was just

developing into a medium size city. It had its very own downtown with a surrounding area of

apartments, industry, and housing.

Tornado

In the summer of 92' the city, use to strong storms experienced a powerful F4 tornado which

slammed into the downtown part of the city. It struck around 5pm when many workers were

preparing to leave there jobs and call it a day.

Devastated Downtown

When the tornado finally faded out, leaving the city, it left a large area of destruction. Much

of the downtown area and surrounding buildings were heavenly damaged. The death toll rose

to over 35 people. The city was quick to draw up new plans for the city.

Redo

The city had decided to tear apart most of the remaining buildings in the downtown

area due to heavy damage. This picture was taken by the Kmec News 2 team

as the St. Peters Mercy Hospital was torn down.

Clear Out

As the remaining area was being torn down, the city had set a task of a group of architects

to design what the new downtown might look like. Construction began right quickly after.

DOWNTOWN DISTRICT

You need to convert you images to JPEG before posting as most people have internet explorer and thus can't view the maxis default png format. I just loaded this page on firefox and they appeared, so you need to convert them.

I like the buildings along the shore, maybe develop the area around it so it doesn't look so contrasted. But good work
