Hi there,

Does anyone know where can I download a city already developed (around 200K people) so I can load into my region?

Thanks

Downloading a city into your region would cause several problems:

1) The edges of the map would not align with your own and you would have to alter the edges of your city or cities.

2) Any mods or downloads used in the city might or might not show up in your game.

3) You'd be completely unoriginal.

Why not build your own city?

I don't know about cities, but you can download an already developed region from www.sc4ever.com (if it's still there). But like schm0 said, if you don't have all the downloads and mods that are used in the region, you'll have a lot of brown boxes.

Welcome to Simtropolis.

For the reasons given so far, it is impractical to make cities down-loadable.   Most ISPs won't allow you to download as much as it would take, which would be several GB, so it would have to be in pieces.

A good point was made in that there would be no creativity involved on your part.  It would be a total waste, and you would learn little or nothing.

Predesigned regions are definitely available from the Maps section of the STEX, and there are other methods to create regions that you can pursue.  Cities, on the other hand, are personal creations of the player, and are the whole point of the game.

Just make a bad city.

Another option is to use the city's that come with the game: the training cities. I can't remember their names, but the 2nd one was a funky one for me to rebuild - after causing a lot of disasters (volcanoes, meteor hits, etc.) of course.

Both the Berlin and London regions that are included with the game are very difficult to recover.  If you have deluxe or Rush Hour, they, having been set up for vanilla, are really difficult to recover to a profitable, playable state.

    Thank you guys!

My city was stagnant and I wanted to see other cities to understand what I did wrong. But I learnt a few more tricks and now it's booming again 2.gif
