Problem solving decorum

Recently, we have had several members add their own woes to threads of members seeking resolution of a problem.  This breaks the continuity of the problem solving conversation while, usually, injecting a different problem that is not the same as the one being worked on.  This is not a good practice as it creates confusion all around.

Please!  If you have a difficulty that you want addressed, avoid being a "me too" on someone else's thread.  Any member may start a thread in this list, and it is the best way to get a response.

We really don't mind people starting threads for problems, but adding to someone else's problem isn't going to help you very much.

actually, I don't quite see the problem in this (if I've understand it right)

If someone has exactly the same problem, why not beeing a "me too"?

ok, it's of course useless to say this when somebody has already explained the problem, but... it's sometimes helpfull to see that one isn't the only one with this problem.

GMT:  Quite often the "me too"ers do not have the same problem.  Often problems are configuration related and most, if not all, players have different machines.  I'd rather see some identical problems separately specified.  There were getting to be some people who "me too"ed a thread, then when a solution was found for the originator immediately complained that it didn't work for them.
