Trouble installing NAM and Simoleon modds

Hi

I have Simcity 4 Deluxe version. When I try to install modds, there are problems:

1) Simoleons modd: the .txt file says put one .dat file (say the $25 M) into the Plugins dir and start a new city. I put the file in place and start a city, but still get the standard 500K of the "Easy" option.

2) NAM modd - the game crashes when it loads into the region view (I get a blue screen from my video card, I think)

Question 1:

I personaly don't use money mods or Lots but as far as I know they start working after the first month. They are a kind of income which comes at the end of the month thus you just have to wait.

Question 2:

What kind of Graphics card do you have? Are your Graphic card's  drivers and / or DirectX correctly installed? I use an old Geforce2 and never got any problems with new drivers but AFAIK ATI drivers can make problems with SC4 and new Drivers.

Try to start the game in a window. If this is working something is wrong with your DirectX.

The NAM requires Rush Hour/Deluxe.  If you have this, then your blue screen of death could have been caused by your sound driver.  Make sure you have the correct, up-to-date drivers for all your hardware.

What reason was given on your BSDO?

My problems were fixed.

NAM - worked after I updated my video card drivers, which is a bit strange because my video card is newer than Simcity 4 itself (Geforce FX 5500).

SimoleonModd - what worked was SimoleonModdRH (another modd downloadable from Simtropolis), probably since my version is Deluxe.

A later card than the game?  Well, you should not expect later stuff to work with old programs unless you tweak it to work.  SC4 doesn't understand any modern stuff like AA and AF.
