Hello, and welcome to my new CJ, Greater Reintuar.

I should start by saying a few things:

1: I use SC4 purely to build and create, not to play an actual strategy game.

2: During the course of this City-Journal, you will see MANY BAT's. I'd like to thank the creators of those BAT's ahead of time. You all do amazing work. Thank you!

That said, lets begin!

   <<Introduction>>

Reintuar

Hello, I welcome you all to Reintuar!

Reintuar is a region known for its forests, and its many hills.

The beauty of the area's coastline has been noted by many famous writers.

"I sat.. And gazed at the clouds above. Surrounded by the many redwood trees, and the gorgeous, clear water. I wanted to call Reintuar my home.."

GreaterReintuarcopy.jpg

"As time progressed.. I found myself becoming part of this beautiful land.. As if I had become attached to it some way.. I was deeply saddened at the time of my leaving."

As of yet.. Reintuar remains unsettled. Its beauty, untouched.

However, Increased exploration in the area could change that very quickly.

    Thanks for the replies people!

Anyway, I'm up late, and bored out of my mind. So I thought I'd just go ahead and do the update. Warning - Updates this frequent would be nightmarish. Ain't gonna happen! =P

    <<Update 1 - "And I landed on the coast..">>

    Reintuar1.jpg

    Welcome to our first update!

I'm excited to say that the first settlement has been spotted in Reintuar!

    FishermansHorizon.jpg

    Fisherman's Horizon

    <Journal Log - Maros Ovalre 4.5.1300>

"We were hit by a rather large storm last night. It seems to have blown us slightly off course. We spotted land today, but it does not seem to be the Reintuar mainland. Nevertheless, this spot we've stumbled upon seems like it would make a good settlement. So we set up camp.

My young son, Jore, asked if he could name our new settlement. I told him that would be nice, though, the King gets final say, as always. He said to me.. "Father, It seems as if this would be a wonderful spot to fish. And the view of the horizon is amazing! I think I know what I want to call our new home! 'Fisherman's Horizon!'

So, thats what it will be referred to as. At least until the ships return home.

We've started construction on a few buildings. Among them, a church. A lovely church, at that. We built a pier. We tried to make it unique, in its own way. The men don't want this place to look like the place we came from.  I don't blame them. Its sad some of us even have to go back.."

Once again, thanks for the replies!

If any of you managed to catch my last, somewhat shortlived CJ, Jateir,  you'd probably notice that.. well, Its lacking alot of detail.

With this new CJ, I am determined to make it beautiful. I'm slowly but surely collecting some really nice BAT's and props and things. Heh, this *WILL* be spectacular, eventually. Just stick with me, please!

    <<Update 2 - "We're beginning to expand..">>

    Reintuar1.jpg

    Welcome to update 2!

    FishermansHorizon.jpg

    <Journal Log - Maros Ovalre 03.02.1301>

"Things here.. Are, well. Interesting, to say the least. Our small settlement is getting larger! We now have a population of about 600! This comes after we've recieved several more ships of settlers. We've struggled to find places for all these people to live. I am, however worried. We're going to begin planting crops soon. But, well, our main street is in a state that has us wondering if we can live in this place.

    FishermansHorizon17.jpg

    The

    rhododendron beds keep dieing!

It was my wife's lovely idea to leave land in the middle of our main street open to landscape. And, the people of the village agreed to it, thinking it would help make our home beautiful. Within a few weeks, everything was dead. Young plants that would, in time, have become beautiful, were wilted signs of death.

Will everything we plant end up like this? I certainly hope not. We want to remain here.

    FishermansHorizon16.jpg

There were complaints made by the newcomers.. Stating that in our town, all buildings look similar!

    How absurd!

Does it not look orderly, and perfect?

    FishermansHorizon8.jpg

We've given a name to our church.. 'Fresta turve non Reintuar.' Or, 'First Church of Reintuar.' It is simple, but it works.

    FishermansHorizon9.jpg

    FishermansHorizon10.jpg

The children have been busy exploring the land. It seems as if we're on an island. From one point, to the north of our village, you can see another land mass. Could it be that we weren't that far off course, after all? Hmm.

Today I recieved word that the Spanish have launched an expedition toward Reintuar. They plan to settle on the mainland's north coast. I surely hope they do not have plans of overtaking our village, as well..

    FishermansHorizon11.jpg

    FishermansHorizon12.jpg

    FishermansHorizon13.jpg

There has been talk of strange, mysterious people roaming the forest around us. So much in fact, that the people want to put into place a sort of curfew. Needless to say, our streets remain eerily empty. Had this been a place back home, the streets would always be filled with life. I miss that.

    FishermansHorizon14.jpg

    FishermansHorizon15.jpg

    FishermansHorizon18.jpg

I hope nothing dangerous is lurking in these forests. Surely, if they are civilized creatures, we can deal with them accordingly, and hopefully, peacefully.

Until then, our streets will remain empty.."

Those are brick streets, which were created by ardecila. You can get the mod here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=brick%20streets&type=all#

I would've preferred cobblestone, but I couldn't find any mods, and well. I didn't really want to try to create one myself.

I have yet to find something similar for roads though.

Hm. I'm sure a few of you would like to say..

"CODY, WHERE IN THE WORLD HAVE YOU BEEN?!"

Never fear, for I am here! Okay. That was lame.

    <<Update 3 - "LAND!">>

    Reintuar1.jpg

    <Journal Log -

    Maros Ovalre (Somewhere in time)>

"We made contact with the Spanish today. They landed on the north east part of the mainland. Quite a lovely settlement, from what I am told. It seems to be thriving, as well.

Leon Nuevo. I think thats what they're calling it.

The word is, the only people that live there are the governor and the monks. Hm.

    LeonNuevo-Jun.jpg

    LeonNuevo-Jun-4.jpg

    LeonNuevo-Jun-5.jpg

    LeonNuevo-Jun-6.jpg

    LeonNuevo-Jul-2.jpg

    LeonNuevo-Jul-1.jpg

We also sent some explorers out to the mainland, and into the forest. It was quite surprising what they found.

The locals call it.. Empiros Reintuar.

    Reintuar.jpg

Those odd things in the forest? Well, we're not sure if these were the people we saw or not. If they are, we've got quite a challenge ahead of us.

Reintuar.. Ha. They call it an empire?! It is but a city state in the middle of nowhere. That ghastly yellow banner.. Displayed virtually everywhere!

Its a setllement, about the size of our own, only, with a monarch. From the people the explorers talked to, he rules with an iron fist.. And his people are actually frightened of him.

    Reintuar-Feb.jpg

    Reintuar-Feb-1.jpg

    Reintuar-Feb-2.jpg

Plaze Reintuar. The 'Reintuarians' seem to fear it. Public execution is held here, along with sacrificial rituals. Sadly, the party we sent was forced to take part in the so called.. 'Celebrations.'

    Reintuar-Feb-3.jpg

    Reintuar-Feb-4.jpg

    Reintuar-Feb-5.jpg

    Reintuar-Feb-6.jpg

    Reintuar-Feb-7.jpg

Needless to say.. And I think the Spanish would agree.. I have a bad feeling about this."

Nice update. You have some great stuff here. BTW, what are those small oblong arcaded buildings you have in front of Debussy's Mexican building? I don't think I have seen those before. Nice town-- rock on dude!

It's 'Palazzo del Podesta,' by Skazz.

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=Palazzo%20del%20Podesta&type=all#

At least, I'm ASSUMING thats the building you were referring to.

    Anyway.

To those who actually take the time to read Greater Reintuar, the next update is prepared and ready to go. I'm just gonna wait until we reach the second page.. Simply because I think there are already enough images on page 1.

Alright, so this isn't really an update. Just something to pass the time. I'm having some issues with random crashes, and when I figure out whats causing it, and remove said object, I shall return.

Until then, lets meet a new Reintuar city, Greatica.

    Reintuar1.jpg

The newest of the cities in 'Empiros Reintuar' is Greatica. Situated on the empire's western coast. Its much different compared to other imperial cities.

This city, is modern. Not strikingly modern, just more advanced than the others.

    Reintuar-Sep-4.jpg

Home to just about a thousand people, it is quaint, and quiet.

    Reintuar-Aug-2.jpg

    Reintuar-Aug-3.jpg

    Reintuar-Sep-1.jpg

    Oops.

(That one was really weird, by the way. There were accidents at like three intersections, and they all happened at once. o.O)

    Reintuar-Sep-2.jpg

    Reintuar-Sep-3.jpg

    Reintuar-Aug.jpg

Thats all folks, stay tuned. Its not dead yet, I promise!
