Night Lighting

I have had the game for over 2 yrs and I have yet to determine a solution to my problem. None of the buildings which I download of STEX work in night mode. What should I do, do I need to download something? Please help!!!!

There are 2 patches ( upgrades ) you need to run so downloaded buildings have nightlighting.

First the "UPDATE_SKU2_TO_P1_B638.EXE", then the "SC4UpdateBAT.exe".

I can't recall where i downloaded the 1st one.. just search for it...

The 2nd one can be found on the origina"simcity.ea.com".

Its under Cool stuff, Building architect tool, Simcity 4 update ( 14.4 MB ).

Make sure you have the original Simcity_1.dat in your program directory otherwise you will get an error message.

You need update 1 for RH/Deluxe which can be had from Simcity.com's main page.  This one is SKU sensitive, and the link will give you the right one.

The night light patch is on the BAT download page, but you need not download the BAT, only the patch.

You must apply these in order.

HELP! I cant download it because I cant validate my account, I never get the validation email......oh and yes Ive made sure its the right address

Off you go to the EA main site.  Read their FAQ on this.  There is a solution, and you have to talk to them.

Not to sound like a wet blanket... or even come across ultra negative.... but don't be surprised that if you go all through the proper steps ... (updating sc4 Rush Hour or SC4 Deluxe) and getting the file SC4Update4BAT. (which you can only get with a registered SC4 game) that all your buildings will not have lighting.. Just a heads up

ok, I discovered that Ive already registered my game....like 3 years ago when it came out. The problem is that I have no idea what the username and password are and deleted the email I used to register. Am I going to have to get another copy of the game to get this patch or is there any other way to get it?

I have the same problem i ca n get BAT but not ther updates so

Doubt it.  This is EA's control mechanism for pirates.  If you have a legit copy, e-mail them and they will help you.

i've downloaded the two files in the correct order and have them in my plugins folder, but my nightlights still won't work, do i need to put it in my program files folder?

As I recall if you have lost your info AND email your only option is to snail mail them. Instructions are on the site for doing that I believe. If you can't find it there, it is on another thread on ST as this topic has only come up about 3000 times since I've been a member Try doing a search on something like "registration" or "verification". Seems it is in the omnibus, but I won't swear to it.

you have to run them, they are programs.

And make sure you have the original simcity_1.dat in your program directory.

I email'd them and it said I would get a response within 24 hours but its been like 36 and still no response. If they are not gonna help will I just never get an email?
