New London...a growing city

the current pop is 87,000ish sims and growing. the only thing i use for commute is the nam set to perfect pathfinding. i used another mod for a little bit but it did absolutely nothing so i got rid of it. i like to use mass transit heavily especially light rail (elevated, ground and subway.). if you look at the pic of the original downtown, you can see a GLR line (the white line) running down the middle of the avenue. the white line is the least used transit lines in the city for the reason that it really only connects downtown to university park.

next update: regional photo, light rail map, and updated pics of the city.

hopefully it will be up in the next day. the SLB is taking a lot of my time right now as we are trying to get it off the ground.

the area surrounding the stadium has been redeveloped. there is now commercial to the west of the stadium, residential towers to the north and park land to the south and west. the parking garageshave been demolished as has the heavy rail line. 3 new light rail lines have been added to the stadium.

    NewPicture10.jpg

a shot of New London from far away.

    NewPicture8.jpg

the light rail network. as you can see it is very extensive. the lines have already been built in anticipation of growth. no expansion to the network is planned at this time. it has been scaled to the city map fo ease of viewing and follows the exact routes of the lines as best as possible.

    NewPicture9.jpg

a region view of the transportation network. only 4 city tiles have been terraformed. the rest will be terraformed as they are developed.

    some statistics from New London:

    Residential Population: 81,743

    Commercial Population: 211,521

    Industrial Population: 15,150

    Region Population: 94,298

Nest Update: the new look of the original downtown, the new town center district, the sports facilities, night life, and any requests i have time for.

thanks to everyone for all the comments. rl has kinda taken off but things should be slowing down soon so i can play some more. hopefully an update this weekend.

and this is the last time i am answering the question about the stadium...you can find how to get it in a post on the first page...you cant miss it. it is blue text in yellow highlighting. from now on i will ignore the question cuz it is the most common and i don't know how to make the answer any more clear

Very nice, mate.....although it could do with a venue for cricket! I know it's not part of the Olympics (anymore) but it is most certainly part of British heritage 4.gif

Very nice, your airport has a lot of detail. I also like your rail system and your tunnels. The larger park design really kicks up the realism as well.

@crazyyaya lol the name came cuz i was uncreative one day and decided to play the london region. i terraformed it some and didnt want to recreate a RL city so i named it new london. the downtown is my most realistic thus far so i am quite fond of it. the town center district was modeled off of a brand new development not far from my house.

@Gmoney702 thanks! im not a big fan of straight airports but curved ones arent exactly available. the rail system is the pride of the mayor. it isn't widely used yet because there are not many suburbs.

    @homeandaway thanks for stopping by!

to help your bid for the simlympics you should add the Windspear arena for basketball. another idea is to make your runways at the airport parallel similar to what we have at Atlanta Hartsfield. More flights.

Quick question, How do you get your Sims to use your user created airport? I built one that rivaled LAX in size, and engineering wonders, and my sims would not use it.

thanks, Oh, yea.. Great work on your CJ
