Welcome...

I'm going to make a city journal, named Sequovère.
I'll start of with a city called Readelstricht.
As I am Dutch, my city will be inspired by Europe and the Netherlands.

The things is use:
-Dutch houses
-Dutch landmarks
-NAM..duhh...
-Highway walls
-Simgoober train station
and many more I forgot.

Well let's start:

Readelstricht

Located in the south-east of the region, the city was found near a river called 'Readel". I'm planning to make this the biggest, most historical, and the capital city in the region. I also want to build the largest ports in the region.
begin6wv.jpg
People started to build a small town called : Readelstad. It's located near a tree, that was holy to the inhabitants.

readelsstad4fo.jpg

Please note the maximum image size is 800 x 600 - MM

People worked on the farmlands and in the small industries.

After a while, a market was constructed, because the trade businness started to grow. The inhabitants also started to build a church, the "onze lieve vrouwekerk".
olvmarkt6tk.jpg
Then, when the city started to grow faster, the inhabitants wanted a bridge, because they wanted to build on the other side of the river.

They found a new town: '' Readelstricht"
readelstricht1vn.jpg
People from Readelstricht were fed up with the busy traffic on the bridge when they went to work, so they built a new industry area, that's planned to be the largest port -area in the region.
haven8ta.jpg
When traffic on the bridge started to get a really big problem, the bridge was upgraded to a road, and the old industry area was demolished. After a while, a 2nd bridge was built: de Zuiderbrug. It connects the new industry area with Raedelstad.

Next time, I'm going to show you the 2nd largest city in the region, the first region view, the first train system, the first port and some surprises!
I hope you'll enjoy my region!

Take care,

Justin aka Uumke

sorry for my bad, monotone, English!

    Update 1

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I've downloaded some tree sets!

Well let's go. I've created a new city, called Vervegraaf. I'm planning to make it the 2nd larges city in the region. I've also made some small towns and villages, in the south-western part of the region. The part is called: De Bruiten. The places there refer with their name to the regional name.

I've also built a railway system, and added some major roads.

I'll start of with the new city, Vervegraaf, that's located on the banks and on an island in the river Verve.

Here you can see the island where the city is found. The largest church in the region is built here, De Vervegraver Dom.

    [dom1ax5.th.jpg

Here you can see the neighbourhood with the central railway station.

    statioskwartier1ya3.th.jpg

    And here a city shot:

    skyline1ib9.th.jpg

    Now back to Readelstricht.

Ten years after the construction of the st. Johns, people wanted a cathedral. So this is the result:

    kathedraal1gq1.th.jpg

Here you have the central station (West Bank), of Readelsstad.

    readelsstadcentraalrb1.th.jpg

And here the central station (East Bank) of Readelsstricht.

    readelstrichtcentraalpq8.th.jpg

I've built a small one-way ringroad around the city centres.

    ]ringac8.th.jpg

And when the tourism ordinance was signed:

    toerist1pv7.th.jpg

    toerist2bb5.th.jpg

I've built a nice stay for the tourists, with an residential area boarding on it.

    And now De Bruiten.

Here you can see a smaller town in the region, Groot Bruit. It's mostly an agrarian area.

    skyline1kn6.th.jpg

And here you have the largest town of de Bruiten, Bruiterstad.

    skyline1rn6.th.jpg

Here a town, that's located in de Bruiten, but it boards on Readelstricht, Bruiten aan de Braat:

    skyline1if6.th.jpg

And some regional views, you can see the railway lines very well.

    tranport1tb3.th.jpg

The satellite map, in the south-west, you can see de Bruiten, and in the ''centre'', you can see Readelstricht, with it's bridges. You can also see the church in Vervegraaf.

    satel1kl7.th.jpg

In the next update, I'll pay some attention to the north and  east of the region. I'm also going to construct some ferry-ports. And I'm going to build a high-tech park in Vervegraaf and Readelstricht.

I hope you've enjoyed the first update!

    Hi,

Very excellent approach here. Remember to keep the image size reasonable so everyone can see them. Photoshop or any good image editor program may have a resize feature that can be useful. Either way, keep up the good work.

thank you for all the wonderfull comments!

In the next update, I'm going to start with the construction of the airport. Can anyone give some tips on constructing airports? I've got 1 airport pack, the acb volume 1.

So, what are the basics for an airport?

Ok, I have some wonderful ideas for the airport. You should download a few more airport packs from the STEX if you want the most realistic and custom work. I'll show a pic when I find time.4.gif

Edit: Here you go. I hope it will give you some ideas. It's a floating airport, so you need ocean.  (Sorry for the bad pics14.gif)FullSize

Update 2: Cities and towns keep growing

    Hello everybody!
Thanks for all the great comments!
    Well let's start!

I've decided to start with a small-highway network: A beltway around Readelsstricht and a motorway through de Bruiten to Vervegraaf. I've built some small boring villages in the north of the region.
Readelstricht is the first city in the region with highrise-buildings. Vervegraaf has some medium-rises. But in the end I think that Vervegraaf is going to be the skycraper-city of the region, because of less stricter height limits.

Well let's start. After the finish of the highway A1, there are some small tailback in Bruit aan de Braat, because of the suburbanism:
    suburb1ku8.jpg

And in Bruiterstad, the A1 is interrupted, because it goes straight through the town.
    traverssesg9.jpg

Well Voulpiotis, I tried to built my own airport but it is a failure, so I'll guess I'm going to use your tips. Check this:
    airportae7.jpg

    So I just did this:
    eairportch6.jpg

Here you have the new gouvernment complex in Readelsstricht:
    gouvernele7.jpg

    The hightech park:
    htppx6.jpg

And the first highrises of the city, on the Readelskade:
    readelskadeqd9.jpg

And a city-shot, you can see the beltway very good!:
    panoramasa5.jpg

And now one picture of Vervegraaf, the Zuiderkade, a major avenue

    zuiderkadeia7.jpg

    The region:
    satel2ll0.jpg

    transp1yg5.jpg

That was the update, but I see there are some problems with imageshack. Edit that later!
next time, I'm going to make the villages in the north more interesting!

    Take care,

    Justin a.k.a. Uumke

Well, actually I didn't help you so much with just one photo, if you saw it (red "x" appears now %&@*$^@). But I can help you. You can type in Search a topic named "Show us your airport". You will find hundreds of photos of different kinds of airports with many hints and tips. Have a look and take some ideas. Your airport as far is good but you can improve it. While the city is growing, keep some free FLAT land and continue expanding the airport with more runways, taxiways, terminals and network. I can tell you much more, but I have't got the time - just PM me if you need more help. Looking forward to your next update!

Your cities look great! I really love the way you used the bridges to the island and the ones crossing the river. The historic cathedrals and government center really give some character to the city, good job!

O ja en zoals je in mijn cj vroeg, ik ben idd een nederlander net als jij 3.gif
