limite de departement : department border

    Ceinture vert : green belt

Parc naturel regional : Regional natural reserve

agglomeration central : the rest of urban area (real suburbs)

autres agglomerations : other urban areas (Include in Paris of Metro area)

    espace rural : rural area

Paris + inner suburbs : The core of Paris urban area is quite dense

    6,718,400 inhabitants (2005)

    728 km² (282 sq mi)

    9,229 inh/km². (23,902 inh/sq mi)

(exclude the biggest parks and forest the density is about 10,000 inh/km²2.gif

Nominal GDP of The core of urban area is about 450 billion $

Paris has aslo the busiest suburban rail system in europe

Wow, those look more like 2nt cities rather than suburbs. They look like just urban areas, especally La Defence, I mean it has it's own skyline in what looks like It's own CBD. I think Edge City describes those areas a little better. They may have at one time been suburbs, but it looks like they are their own major cities that just happen to be in the Paris metro area (which looks very spread out.)

Those municipalities  La Defense are in inner sububrs it should be integrated at Paris because it is not an other city, those area are in Paris.

La Defense is already linked at the CBD of Paris and form a very huge CBD.

Montrouge has the same density than Paris and a  big part of Montrouge was integrated in Paris in the 19th century.

Inner suburbs of Paris are not integrated in Paris because unlike N.Y or London, Paris was not fusioned with its inner suburbs in the 20th century.

Paris is often compared at Manhantan because the municipality is very tiny (40 sq mi or 86 km2)

and the inner sububs are compared at Brooklyn, the Queens,  the Bronx

A big part of this pic is located in the inner suburbs of Paris

    395831628_2f8c13f619_o.jpg

Actually only the only municipalities in suburbs wich can be describes at  edge cities are in oulter suburbs

Exemple in oulter suburbs ot Paris

Those sound like an older European version of American "boom-burbs," Municipalities that almost match or exceed the main city's population, like Mesa, Arizona being only a few miles from the Phoenix CBD. Either way, those pics really show off how big Paris Metro really is.

If you think about some of Paris's suburbs look like some of the LAtin American suburbs. Not a whole lot of Latin Amrican suburbs are like that due to wealth but the ones that do are higher class. You did a good job when getting the pictures at the different times of the day and in different types of weather.
